Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House, Kansas City

All my fiance and I wanted to do was have a reservation for tomorrow and they wouldn t let us. Scott was rude and abrassive and the whole company just lost out on a huge venue worth alot of money.

A great place to eat. Good food, good people. Had the herb chicken the very best ever. So even if you don t like barbecue there is still something there for you. Loved it.

Really nice place. Had a BBQ combo plate with pork ribs and sausage. It was good but the ribs were a bit dry. My wife got the Beef Prime Rib plate with 3 ribs on the plate. These were huge and very good. Overall it was a nice experience but a bit expensive. With that being said I ve paid more for worse meals but I was disapointed with the BBQ pork ribs. As far a BBQ there are better BBQ joints in KC but if you like Prime Beef Ribs and a nice dinning experience then you will enjoy Jack Stacks. Good Service.

My mother decided to take me to Jack Stack while I was visiting home from college for break. During my last night in town, she decided to do something nice and take me to eat. I was thrilled due to being on a tight budget in college and eating sandwiches all week. Being a native of K.C. I ordered the K.C. Strip Steak medium-well. After waiting, our meal arrived overcooked. My steak was BURNT! It was like toast. Very disappointment. Killed my mood. A steak should not be CRISPY!

Amending my review after having eaten here for dinner 3 times. The food is very different if you order off the menu compared to eating there as a banquet facility. Top 5 KC BBQ, and has very neat ambiance in the Freight House district. Great place to take out-of-town visitors.

We are big foodies and will drive all over for great food experiences. Jack Stack did not disappoint. We had the lunch burnt ends plate. My wife had the beef and pork while I had the sausage and ham. All was great the ham was just ham but the other meats were very good. The smoke and tenderness were perfect. We will definetly recommend this establishment to all. I am looking for my next visit and trying a Martin city mayor sandwich. Burnt ends, cole slaw served on a roll.

I love this place! Their staff is friendly. I never have to wait long for a table or food. Food is EXCELLENT! Especially the mushrooms! Great place!

I love the atmosphere and the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and not pushy and interruptive as some can be. I thought the prices were very affordable. My husband and I had the short back ribs platter for two. We were more than full and came out only spending $28. Would recommend for romantic meal or a family event - it fits either way.

The barbeque is out of this world. Anyone should also try the Cheezy Corn. It is wonderful. Outstanding food.

I was visiting the KC area with a friend and we were referred to Jack Stack BBQ for lunch. The appearance was nice, service was decent, food was fair. But when I ordered sweet tea, the waiter came back and said that they were out. I asked for a water until new sweet tea was available. The waiter said that they were out of the ingredients to make sweet tea!!? How does a restaurant run out of simple things like tea and sugar? That was probably my last visit to Jack Stack. There are just so many bbq places to choose from. How do you run out of tea and sugar? Oh well. Mike B.
