My husband and I have enjoyed many good meals in this restaurant but last Sat night I had the combination stuffed lobster tail and steak. What a disappointment! The tail was so small it couldn't even be stuffed. It was dried out and tough. Since we were in the back room and it was crowded, we did not want to complain in front of everyone. I have had much better lobster at Red Lobster. When we spend that amount for food and drinks, I expect quality food.
My wife and I really love this place. It is higher end than a few other seafood places in town, but they really separate themselves with the cuisine and atmosphere. The stuffed salmon is awesome, and the chocolate bag is a perfect way to finish off any meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant for entertaining a client, or celebrating a special occasion (ask for a snug). Make a reservation though; this place fills up quick, especially around the holidays. Not bad at all for a high-end chain seafood establishment.
After reading a sour review of this establishment, I had to add my 2 cents. Mc and S. is one of my favorite places to eat. The food has always been excellent, and more importantly, the atmosphere is fantastic. A great place to go to mingle, and make new friends. I have never been disappointed with any entree I have tried. Always tasty, and presented well.
I ordered sauteed salmon. Sauteeing means fried in a pan in a little oil. But they apparently think it means drowning chunks of white fish in thick, heavy cream sauce with a seafoody taste that was off and unpleasant. It is still sitting heavily in my stomach several hours later. And it was $18. A McDonald's fish sandwich tastes much better. Frozen fish sticks too (heat first before eating).
My friend's salmon dish, $30+, he pronounced ok (but only ok), and the portion was so small he said they should have given him another one just like it.
You'd think the chef would sample the goods once in a while.
