Starker's Reserve Restaurant
This very upscale Country Club Plaza restaurant features outstanding food, impeccable service and a country French decor. Starker's was honored by Wine Spectator magazine with its Grand Award for one of the Top 100 Wine Lists in the world. More than 15,000 bottles are available to enjoy with your meal. Entrees include veal chops, sauteed salmon and grilled elk. Prices are expensive, but the experience is worth it.
Great place. Haven't been there in 20 years, but I used to have a buddy, Kent Fortner, who worked here. Got him started out on his current career path. Starkers gets top marks in my book, but eager to get back and see how the restaurant has fared.
Starker's Reserve was the venue for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary, held August 25, 2007.
The prices are very reasonable.
Guest commented on how the Grilled Filet of Salmon; Sauteed Breast of Chicken Stuffed with Herb Soft Herb Cheeses and Prosciutto Ham and the Pork Tenderloin topped with dried cherries and wine sauce, were perfectly prepared. The dessert was very satisfying, accompanied by the freshest raspberries I have eaten in a long time. The service was better than we could ever have expected. The manager, Dean Smith, was very helpful, friendly and accomodating.
I recommend the restaurant, highly and would consider it again for celebrating another special occassion.
The food is incredible, with wonderful attention to flavor and vitality, without resorting to overly-rich cliches. They have a new, younger chef and his ethusiasm and creative drive make the food sparkle. The staff is formal and knowledgable without being at all uptight.
