Hibachi Japanese Steak House
This restaurant located on the Country Club Plaza offers traditional Japanese dining in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The chefs perform quite a show, providing entertainment while they cook at your table. All dinners include appetizers, soup, salad, rice, tea and dessert. Diners can choose from Hibachi Steak, Filet Mignon, Sirloin Steak and Hibachi Seafood. A full bar completes the dining experience.
(This review concerns the steakhouse, and not any other portion of the restaurant.) First of all the service was decent and the decor was distinctly Japanese (having traveled extensively in Japan, I found it to be the most authentic I've seen in the area) However, decor aside, I expect a Japanese restaurant to know the difference between green tea and black tea. The food was wretched. The chef burned the fried rice, almost set the floor on fire with his sloppy showmanship, and under seasoned all the food he didn't overcook. Over all, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Though the wait can be long, it's well worth it. They have a bar area you can sit at while you're waiting for a table. Not only is the food incredible, it's entertaining. The chefs are awesome at what they do and the whole experience will make you want to keep coming back.
I loved the food, service, and atmosphere.
Its a great place for a large group or family. the food lieterally melts in your mouth, and it's really exciting to see the food cooked in front of you. People have a great time with their tricks and hospitatlity. Its a great family fun restaurant or even a great date.
It was my wedding anniversary and we chose the Hibachi for their warm atmosphere. This Japanese Steakhouse has a wonderful reputation of entertaining chefs, who cook at the table-grill right in front of you. They have excellent food and good service. For the good sized portions the food is indeed not overpriced. Again it has lived up to it's reputation. I have been dinig at the Hibachi for the last 20 years and the service is still excellent, and the food has never dissappointed me. There are not many establishments who can constistantly maintain these standards. This is one of Kansas City's better resturants!
First, the location is great. You can do a lots of things before and after dinner.
Second, its a unique experience. the cooking style and the fact that you see the chef cooking in front of you
Finally, we sat in a table with people we didn't know but by the end of our dinner, we were having a great time chatting with them.
Hibachi's is a wonderful place to eat. The environment is very classy, yet entertaining and relaxed. The environment promotes interaction among the guests and also gives you the opportunity to meet and the see the cooks. It's a great place for the family, first dates, and many dates thereafter.
