Pancho's Mexican Food, Kansas City

I LOVE this place. It is cheap, noisy, dirty, messy, and always busy. The food is totally authentic and the salsa bar, though messy, is DELICIOUS with about a dozen FRESH made delights and plenty of hot stuff. It is truly rare to get great Mexican food in a fast food format. I GOTTA hit Ponchos every time I get to KCMO.

A co-worker and I ordered ansada burritos to go. About an hour after my co-worker ate his, he complained of an upset stomach. I thought he just couldn't handle the hot sauce. A little later, my stomach, also, became upset and I started having the runs. I took a chance a few weeks later, and I didn't have the same unfortunate results, and enjoyed the meal. Maybe it was just a fluke.

My friend and I just came back from an 11 o'clock run to Pancho's. Dis-gus-ting. I ordered the cheese enchilidas and the cheese wasn't even melted; it was just shredded cheese in a tortilla. The whole meal was luke warm, at best. The rice would have been good if it was at least warmer. Their green salsa is good, but their regular salsa is like watered down spaghetti sauce. If you want late night Mexican food that you'll actually like and that's worth your money, go to Taco Bell; it's always a safe bet!

My first time eating there was last night! It was delicious! And I'm going there again today, I'll try the location on Bluejacket for lunch, and back to Main for dinner.

I always went to ponchos after drinking and it was always awesome....key words...after drinking. The place is a mess. I went in for the first time last night..wow..dirty and a bit sticky.. that being said...every city needs a hole in the wall Mexican joint and this is it. Just eat there after your drinks.

They have delicious Horchata (beverage) and the burritos are usually very good too...You run into some questionable meat from time to time, but you will get that anywhere...That's why I don't eat meat anymore, but I will still highly recommend Ponchos! The tortillas are wonderful.

NASTYYYYYYYY there's not even soap in the bathrooms!! I'LL NEVER GO BACK THERE

Terrible, the meat is grissel and you dont know that because you only go there after drinking. Kitchen is dirty and they are rude people. Should have been called Garbagho's

This is nothing that I would eat unless I had been drinking. All food tastes good after a night of drinking.

About the same amount of food as a big burrito place like Chipotle, but half the price! Furthemore, there is way more to choose from than a place like Chipotle. I'v been in love with Poncho's ever since the first time I had it
