IM POSTING MY REVIEW BEFORE I EVER VISITED THE PDC ...........I have heard only great things about PDC I will be visiting tonight, I am hoping that its much better than the reviews I just read, The PDC is the GRAND FINALLY restaurant for my husbands 40th bday, we have went to several other restaurants during the week of his bday all of them have been great, so if this restaurant doesnt live up to my expectation I will be pissed off. Hoping for the best .
will give my comments after we return
Food--- 4.0 food was nothing special the chocolate bar was just gross. Old fruit
Service—2.0 for this kind of money you would expect the best. I’ve had better service at apple’s. The host did try
Atmosphere---0.0 There is bugs and crap flying around the place. They try to offer you chocolate cover strawberries at the end and you know bugs have been There is absolutely nothing good about this atmosphere. You feel like you are stepping back into 1980 when you walk in here. My wife cloth napkin was dirty, here glass was chipped, no live piano music like you would expect with prices like this. The place is such crap! Ruined my anniversary. The lights are too bright, fake candles burning at the table. You feel like you are setting in your neighbor’s lap you feel like you have to whisper just talk because the place is so quite everyone would hear your conversation. This is not a classy place. We walked in people had on ball caps and blue jeans My wife and I felt like fools because we actually dressed up to come here. This place feels like you are in a ball room and they just set up tables and started charging people ridiculous amounts of money for. They gave my wife an old welted rose when it was time to go, that was like the last straw of subpar quality from this place.
Overall score—0.0 never go here this place needs to be on hell’s kitchen. They are robbing people for out of their money.
$118.00 for a dinner for two you would expect top of the line everything. This place can’t hold a candle to the cheesecake factory! It can’t even hold a candle to Applebee’s! My wife and I went there for our anniversary. I wanted to take her somewhere we’ve never been before and somewhere that was a step up from cheesecake factory, red lobster or olive garden. (Which would have all been better choices for much less $$.) I’ve heard that this place was supposed to be a really nice place but I can’t think of anything that is really nice about it. Ok where do I start…. Our soda was flat, very flat and tasted bad like it was too old. My wife’s glass was chipped. I wouldn’t expect this from somewhere that supposes to be so nice. The was only 3 waiters on duty for the whole restaurant on a Saturday night that should have told us something. No one was in there. I probably went 20 minutes with an empty Pepsi glass. The waiter walked by 5 or 6 time before he noticed and gave me a refill. It took forever for our food to come out. When it came out it was not really hot. I knew in a place like this the portion sizes would be small and I expected that. The presentation was horrible there was smashed potatoes plopped in the middle of the plate with my steak cup in half on either size with some crap thrown on top of that. It just didn’t look like a $42 plate. I’ve been to the skies which is located at the top of this same hotel and they have a way to make the smashed potatoes look like it came out of a large frosting pouched so it looks on the plate. I’m getting mad just trying to gather my thoughts about this place. And don’t get me started about this chocolate bar. Everthing up there looked like crap. For this kind of money why would you want to go and pick over some crap that’s been setting there all night hoping to find something for dessert. Whoever is running this place is not in touch with reality. For this kind of money someone should roll a cart full of desserts to your table and let you choose without leaving your seat. Bottom line they charge prices like they are on par with the skies restaurant and not ever on par with olive garden.
Which dumbass is running this place? Benton's that sits on top of the westin has a 24oz t-bone steak for $36 live music and will beat this place in every way inclue price. I'm so pissed I hope they go out of business. I want my $118 back.
I HATE THE PEPPERCORN DUCK CLUB!!RIPPED ME OFF FOR $118 AND OUR ANNIVERSARY THAT WE WILL NEVER GET BACK!!
The ambiance was above average, but a loud party at the next table disrupted most of the restaurant and staff was quite unresponsive. Food was above average, with the exception of the duck which was over cooked. Service was above average. Pricing appeared appropriate. Will probably try other restaurants before deciding to return.
I expected more from my visit to the duck club. The ambiance is sub par for the pricing. The food was not spectacular either. The chocolate bar was a disappointment. I would not go back. There are to many other more reasonable places with better food.
My husband and I went to the Peppercorn Duck Club for our anniversary and then again when my father came to town. Wonderful food and service. The chocolate bar is incredible. Not cheap but well worth the cost. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary this is your place.
My husband and I love to go for our anniversary every year. The menu is slightly changed every year which keeps it interesting. You do get a lot for your money. We love the chocolate bar, I love the rose and printed matches. The food is superb. This is upscale all the way. I put it on the top of all restaurants in Kansas City! We love getting waited on by several people. We have made friends there and Brenda is just wonderful! The Asian waiter is very kind and so is the wine waiter. We love to impress our friends from out-of-town in-between anniversaries and bring them to The Duck Club too!
