regret to say, Main Street Coffee House closed July 2008, but rumor has it another coffee shop will be opening on the square in Independence, MO, sometime this winter.

On the dull side

Closes too early and too quiet on weekends. This place would benefit from providing some live entertainment as many other coffeehouses are now doing.

great coffee on the square!

main street is a wonderful cozy coffee shop. both the coffee and the staff are terrific. there's a couch to relax, and tables and chairs that are great for studying--they even have board games you can play! the only con about them is that it closes at 5pm, Monday-Friday, big bummer. otherwise it's perfect! and they have chocolate covered coffee beans in an old fashioned bubble gum machine--yummmeee!

An outstanding place to spend an afternoon

Main Street Coffee Shop is the best thing to happen to Independence since Harry Truman. I love to go there and visit with a friend, or to read or study.
