Anvil Restaurant & Saloon, Ste Genevieve

We had lunch at The Anvil with the parents. They are seniors and were treated SO nice by our server Sarah. The food was excellent, YES the onion rings were worth the trip. It will definitely be a place that we look forward to visiting on a regular basis. It's only 50+ miles from St. Louis, go enjoy!

We ate here almost a year ago. Everything was great until about 10 - 12 guys walked in that just looked like trouble. Thanksfully the manager put them upstair by themselves and the local police were put on standby in case something happened. It was like a scene out of a movie. You just knew they were bad men. I heard they appear once a year and the locals recommend staying inside or leaving town completely.

I have been to The Anvil many times in the past. I called about a month ago to reserve an upstairs table for an informal meeting because in my past vistis the food has been good as well as the service. Last night however a completely different set of circumstances ocurred. The owner/manager was the rudest individual I have EVER encountered in a service setting. With his treatment I will nevergo back as well as encourage EVERYONE I know to take their business elsewhere in this very charming community.
