Pio's Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge, St Charles

Like on Seinfeld, they can take a reservation but they can't keep a reservation. Made reservations for a 65th birthday dinner five days in advance for 11 people incl 1 highchair. 24 hours before the dinner I get a call telling us we can be accommodated if we come a half hour earlier and are out in 90 minutes or are split up between tables and booth. A nice way to celebrate a 65th with a family. Their untimely cancellation of the confirmed reservation caused us to scramble calling 12 other restaurants before we could find an opening. Had to cancel the flower delivery and redirect. They did say they were sorry, however. Ate there often but guess a more important customer got our reservation. A suggestion --have individuals who answer the phone for reservations knowledgeable of the seating capabilities and the reservations already booked. I will say they were very pleasant as they destroyed the birthday party. We are eating at another location in O'fallon. Moving on now, not going back to the restaurant trades version of Avis.

I go there once in a while and it's great service and great food. Not the best but good. sometimes slow service but often rare.

Took my wife for a date there last Fridey 7-29-11, Nice atmosphere- the only thing going for this place. The waitress was slow. She didn't bring bread with our salads so we asked for bread. Ended up having the buss boy get bread for us, which he did rather quickly.The bread was cold. My wife's pizza was limp and my fish had a strong odor and taste. I expected more for the price range! I gave a bigger tip to the buss boy than the waitress.

We grew up in St Charles eating and loving Pio's pizza. We have lived out of state since 1982 and every time a friend or family member from St Charles comes to visit, we request they bring us the best pizza we've ever had....Pio's!!!!

This is my favorite restaurant in St. Charles. Never had a bad experience. Go there at least once a month.

very dissapointing.........the food was served barely warm............salad dressing too sour.......service good....don't think I'll be going back anytime soon

Been there several times over several decades...Never was all that impressed. Everything about it is average at best.

My husband and I have eaten three times at Pios and have had exceptionally good meals each time. Although, it is small the ambiance is very welcoming and you’ll always find friends at the bar. The menu is standard, but you won’t go wrong with any of its options. Although, I do highly recommend the pepper-lion style filet and a pizza or two. The service is also very exceptional; we have eaten there the past three Fridays and must say Richard goes out of his way to deliver the best of service. Over all the place was clean, the service was excellent and the food exceptional. I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already.

I can not believe this has 4 stars beside it. This is not a 4 star rstaurant . I have lived in St. Charles most of my 38 years. Along time ago Pio's was the place to go. I have tried it time and time again over the 2 years because it is close to where I live. It is dirty, the service is mostly rude and snobbish, and the food has gone very low quality. If you have to be there stick with drinking wine . Just not at the bar because chances are your arms will stick to it.

Went on a Monday night with birthday coupon. Server very indifferent. Menu hasn't changed in 20 years. Food ok at best, I have problems dining with people with their baseball hats on, old regular establishment that hasn't kept up with the times, sorry to see it go down. WILL NOT GO BACK.
