Tony's on Main
Tony's on Main Street is a family owned and operated Restaurant and Bar. We have two levels. The first level is a bar, restaurant and banquet room. This floor also offers a lunch buffet from 11 a.m. til 1:30 p.m. tuesday thru friday. Upstairs which was open in 2009 offers the same menu as downstairs, however is more of a bar atmosphere. We host surprise birthday parties in the game room and it boosts the only second story deck which overlooks main street. You can have dinner downstairs and come upstairs via our elevator and have after dinner beverages upstairs watching people enjoy a stroll on main street. Come enjoy our famous white chicken nachos or garlic shrimp, have a glass of wine and for dinner you must try our hand cut house tenderloin.
When I go to a well recommended eatery I expect not only excellent service, but exceptional food as well. I go to these places because I expect them to bring out the best flavors in the meat, however I was not able to even taste the beef. My meal was covered in a white wine sauce that had solidified because so much cheese had been added. I feel that the main parts of the dish were covered. When cooking the point to be made is the quality of the beef and the flavors that can be brought out from it, not the extras that are meant to accentuate the beefs great taste. Regardless of not being able to taste the beef in my meal I did enjoy my time there. The atmosphere is inviting and an ideal place to have decent food and catch up with your friends.
We love to go to Tony's, the atmosphere is fun and the food is excellent. I haven't had something that I did not like. It's very clean and the location is great. What more could you ask for in a restaurant.
The food is excellent, the ambience is nice, it's in old town St. Charles, in an old building, it's very nice. They have very good steaks, and an appetizer called white chicken nacho's that are to die for.
I was expecting a much better cut of steak, but it was good. The ambience was very cozy and I always enjoy a small homey type atmosphere. However, after we had only been there for 1 1/2 hours, we were very rudely asked to give up our table. We were invited to go to the bar, however none of us smoked and the bar was filled with smoke and loud talking. I did not expect or appreciate the fact that we paid $75.00 for 3 dinners and were asked to give up our table after an hour and a half! I have spent twice as much time conversing at a restaurant that has great ambience, great food, for less than $75.00. I will definately not be returning as we go out not just to eat but to also socialize. Tony's is definately not that home town restaurant that you can chill out at and have a nice dinner with conversation.
