Description

The acoeSpiroac2s familyac has been serving the St. Louis area since 1977 and our object was, and always will be, to serve acoequality food at a fair price accompanied by a superb quality of friendly service. All together there are five restaurants in the St. Louis area that have a direct tie to the Karagiannis family. They evolved out of the original Spiroac2s on Natural Bridge which was started in 1977 by our uncle, Spiro. Our restaurant, Spiroac2s South, is located at 3122 Watson Road just minutes from Highways 40 and 44. We have been serving St. Louis for almost 30 years. For most of those years Spiroac2s South was owned and operated by our parents, Bill and Bessie Stratos. We grew up working in the restaurant and now our children are learning the special recipes and hospitalities that make Sprioac2s South one of the finest restaurants in St. Louis.

This is not where the chic hipsters hang out and that is EXACTLY why I find this restaurant so refreshing. You feel like family as soon as you walk in and you are treated like family during your stay. The menu choices are great and the food is top notch. Spiro’s offers a nice break from the pretentiousness of the downtown dining experience.

From the moment we walked in without first making any reservations, we knew it would be another memorable dining experience. Starting off with a warm and friendly greeting from Lou and Demetra, to the ice cold Greek beer in a frosted glass, the Greek wine my wife always orders, then to the fabulous flaming cheese (OPA!), everything was delicious and the service was very personal, and this was just for starters! My Greek country salad was as promised; plenty of cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions on a bed of lettuce, as was the small Greek dinner salad that my wife enjoyed. Dinner was exceptional, only disappointment was I wanted lobster tails but had to settle on Norwegian baked salmon with a mustard glaze…I’m glad they were out of lobster tails! My wife enjoyed the Greek eggplant dish. We enjoyed the personal attention from Nicky, one of the owners, as she stopped by more than once to check on how our dinner was and chatted for a while, as she did with all the customers. Finally, we had the wonderful Greek dessert, Baklava, with our after-dinner drinks. A night out at the Greek restaurant wouldn’t be complete without having this sinfully delicious Greek dessert. This is why we bring our friends and families here; they treat you like you are friends and family! Thank you Nick, Nicky and all of the great staff for another great dining experience Mike & Gay

Take a walk back in time when great service and food was the talk and not the fancy window trimmings. This family-owned restaurant serves mouth-watering Chateaubriand, exceptional gyro plate and there are flaming cheese galore! Wait staff is especially generous and attentive and always with a smile. Prices are fair and portions are not skimpy either. Great prices on bottled wine, too! 9.5/10! Spiro's makes Saint Louis proud!

Fine dining with casual atmosphere

Spir's is a small restaurant and does not serve itallian food like every other restuarant in St. Louis. If you are looking for a place to eat that is intimate yet family friendly with great food, good portions and friendly staff, this is the place for you. We really enjoy going there.
