To all of you experts.. My wife and I have been to Chimis many times .The staff, food, drink and the decor are great !!! We heald a Christmas party there in o8 it was terrific. We have been to Mexico many times in the past , this is as close to the real fun we had there. The food may not be the very best but for the money no complaints at all....

My boyfriend and I ate there about 6 months ago and it was terrible. If cheap prices & crap food is your top priority then this is the place for you. A mexican restaurant should at least get a taco, a staple, right. The meat in the taco was just steamed hamburger. No seasoning. The same for the chimi. There are a few great Mexican restaurants in STL, this is not one of them. I would rather eat at taco bell then this place. Other Mexican restaurants to try-Arcelia's, Hacienda in Rock Hill, Nacho Mama's, and of course Chuy Arzola's. Chuy's is famous for their fajitas, they marinate them and it is the best quality of fajita meat I have ever had. Now that Chuy's is back, give them a try. All of these restaurant's have great flavor and the food is quality. I wouldn't waste my time or money going to Chimichanga's again.

I used to work there (at both locations) and let me tell ya, it's not anywhere near what everybody thinks it is!! If you knew what happens behind the scenes, you'd never eat there again. I am surprised they're not shut down yet. I tried to bring it up the food standards, but I was fought every step of the way. I take pride in my food, but they don't and I had to leave after six months, because I couldn't stand what the restaurant was doing. If you value your stomach, don't go. Watch out for crawlies!

Excellant food for the price!!! If you like margaritas and you have nothing to do the rest of the night than enjoy!! Me and my wife have been there many times we enjoy the fajitas for one because the protion is sooo much it feeds two. They have the lowerst prices in town and being a patron of every mexican restaurant this side of the river we enjoy everything they have to offer. The outside patio is excellant!! It's a very laid back atmosphere which we enjoy. Sit back and enjoy the margaritas it's party time!!

Decent Mexican food for the price. Not the best Mexican food in St. Louis, but the best in that immediate area. Alhambre is very good. Amicable atmosphere. Everyone seems to have a good time. Only negatives would be that the waitress's don't come around often enough to do refills on chips and salsa, or even for additional drinks or tortillas. Also, often wait 10 to 15 miutes or more just to pay my bill, after I have finished dining, especially after the dinner rush has subsided. Also, will sometimes get one waitress to seat me, another to take my order, and another to bring my my food, and one of the three to do refills, and one of the three to take care of my check. Confusing.
