Jazz at the Bistro
Hosting jazz acts from all over the nation, Jazz at the Bistro is the only place in St. Louis that keeps it jazz-tastic. Every blue moon, there are poetry/spoken word showcases or musicians from various genres, but the majority of the acts that come through this hip nightclub stay true to the name. Located amidst the city lights of the historic Grand Center, the intimate, fun atmosphere makes falling in love inevitable, whether it's with the great food, the great sounds, or the one you're with. The Bistro is also an excellent spot to book private parties, with a capacity of 250 people indoors and up to 400 outdoors in the adjacent Strauss Park. - Cathryn D. Blue
This place will take you away from all the stresses of your day. The music and the acoustic are wonderful. The walk from the parking lot to the club can be very romantic. The city at night feels great, it feels cozy yet open to all manner of possibilities. The atmosphere combined with the Jazz at the Bistro experience is a must for any urbanite.
Jazz at the Bistro has great drinks, food, and entertainment. The performers are world class and there is no comparison to their food. I go at least once a year to enjoy the food and the atmosphere. This is a must visit place.
Jazz at the Bistro is the best venue for Jazz in St. Louis. I love being so upclose and personal with the world-class performers they bring in. It is a traditional club setting, so if you arrive a bit early, you can order a lovely dinner (around $15 or so) and get cocktail service during the shows. Where else can you see John Pizzarelli, Freddy Cole or Dianna Krall while eating crab cakes?! The sound is a very good quality and they have floor and limited upstairs seating - a cool birds eye view. I think they still have valet parking on weekends.
