Thanks to live music, this popular hangout is probably known more for fun than food, but that does not mean you will not be impressed with the culinary results. Do not expect an extensive menu, although you will be more than satisfied with one of the delicious burgers, the Philly cheese steak sandwich or one of a variety of salads. The beer selection is impressive, with domestic choices around. The simple menu at Hammerstone's is actually quite impressive. Overall, it is a good place to unwind with friends or enjoy a casual date, but you will probably want to go elsewhere for a serious business meeting or a true romantic dinner.
Was mike on drugs. I have been there many times and never seen bugs. Any place can have the clueless server now and then. Beer is cold, food is warm,
My starting place and sometimes last stop on my tour de Soulard. I was there two weeks ago and had good service and good food. Long live Pabst.
Hi Karen, Cory, Thomas.
Bon Mardi Gras.
Disgusting place!!! After waiting 30 min to get my drink we finally ordered some food. The food came out cold, and when I asked that they simply warm it up, she acted like she was doing me a favor!! There were bugs in the bathroom and even in the dining area!!! I was disgusted with this place, don't waste your time and money, go to Joanies Pizza up the street.
One of my favorite places to go in the STL, especially on Sunday when the Voodoo Blues Band hosts a Jam Session from 4-8 pm. Great food! Great service! Great music! Top musicians sit in with the band and the atmosphere is always fun and friendly! Excellent Fried Chicken and great sandwiches. Hammerstone's ROCKS!!
Wonderful food! I had the fish ....more than adequat portions, taste was delicious. Probably the best fish sandwich I have ever had. Homemade chips were good...staff was very friendly and courteous. I will go back!
Will NEVER go back!! and telling everyone i know also...Ordered food at 12:20pm and never got served...had to leave at 12:55 to go back to work. Told waiter to put food in to go boxes...never saw him. Left money on table....should NOT have done that at allll !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great fun and the best place to go to in Soulard! Consistenly great food any time you go there! Has friendly, fun staff, and super nice owners! Added bonus with free entertainment on Saturday and Sunday afternoons!
Friendly wait staff and bartenders, good food (although they've trimmed back their meatless menu), great ambience, and good music; I highly recommend Shakey Ground Thursday and Saturday nights. This is about as laid back and friendly as any place I've found in St. Louis.
I love this bar, I was driving around that area with a buddy and we suddenly decided we were hungry, right then we passed by Russell and 9th and we sew Hammerstone, we took the chance and went in, the place is great, wonderful atmosphere, great food, the Cajun rib eye on a hoagie is unbelievable.
the only issue I have with that place is the fact that they changed me $0.50 for a tomato an lettuce, I really have never seen a place charge you extra for that, I have been in places that you have to specify that you want those, but not really to pay extra for it (don't get me wrong, I can afford $0.50, but it was kinda wired)....do you think I can bring my own lettuce and tomato next time????......
Hammerstones is one of the only bars in soulard having real live blues everynight of the week. Complamenting the Live music is great food and wonderfull staff. This is the place to be fo 06 Mardi Gras.
A downtown St. Louis dining institution in an out of the way spot, Al's has been serving enormous portions of
steak, seafood and basic Italian specialties for decades. The look is clubby, with dark wood and leather chairs. Dress ...
