Giovanni's on the Hill
Friendly, attentive service, a warm atmosphere, and classic Italian food were hallmarks of Giovanni's on opening night. Today, 40 years later, they still set Giovanni's apart, along with an owner whose exuberant personality and enthusiasm for the business has never waned. We offer loads of private dining experiences, private rooms and have two banquet facilities for your special event needs. Giovanni's on the Hill has always been the standard here for service, food and atmosphere, says Joe Bonwich, restaurant critic for the St. Louis Post Dispatch. It's the whole package for high-end Italian dining: table side preparation, waiters in formal attire, a place to go for a memorable occasion. You don't find those things much anymore.
The best fine dining this side of the Mississippi.

We were blown away by the experience at this restaurant. I had a crab stuffed filet mingon that was amazing. The pinot was great as well. The waiter even surprised us with a Kahlua dessert that had sprinkled cinnamon. To die for........
I first encountered Giovanni's at a Company Dinner with our client Isuzu, We had the whole second floor and wer treated to service that I've become accustomed to. This is VIP service to the max. I later took my employee's to dinner there and they brought out a table for us and treated us Royalty. Kings and Presidents often eat there.
We go to a lot of nice, classy restaurants and this one was not up to par! Everyone raves about this place and we had to check it out! We had reservations at 8:00 and didn't get seated until 9:00 (maybe because our last name wasn't one bit of Italian). Our meal for four people was a little over $340.00 and the experiance was horrible. We don't mind spending that much for a good time, but this was terrible. Our waiter was helpful and nice after realizing what we went through, but the manager couldn't care less. They were out of the fish of the day and also the soup. They told us our seat wasn't ready because of a screaming kid and when we finally got seated, there were no children in our area (nor did any leave). I think they save certain seats for the Italian locals and when no one else showed up, we were seated. I would never go back and you shouldn't either! We throwed our money away that night. The best thing about the night was the bread because we were starving by the time we got some.
My family and I have been to Giovanni's on several occassions and have truly enjoyed it each and every time. For my son's 13th birthday, we gave him the choice of going to Holiday World and Splashing Safari or going to Giovanni's for supper. He chose Giovanni's!
This is by far our favorite restaurant. We lived in St. Louis for 25 years and whenever we return we never fail to visit our favorite restaurant. We now live in California. Whether we are in San Francisco, Napa Valley, or Sacramento, we have found no equal. We always look forward to the exquisite dining experience when we return to Giovanni's.
