Tucker's Place, which started off as a pizzeria but quickly transformed itself into a restaurant known for juicy hamburgers and inexpensive steaks, is one of the highlights of the Soulard restaurant scene. Located in a funky old building with a dark interior and a cozy bar, it serves well-prepared food to a lively, casual crowd. On the menu, you will find items such as deep-fried vegetable appetizers, chicken and Cajun club sandwiches, shrimp, ravioli and of course, steaks and chops.
Don't eat here they have the worst service I ever experience in my life. My family and I went to the happy hour which is half off on appertizers but last night they only gave us one item half off and full price on the others. I asked the manager if he could correct the bill because the resturant didn't have any signs or the bartender didn't inform customers about the change in the happy hour. The manager was very rude but I sent them over to the BBB. :)
I've enjoyed the food at Tucker's almost my entire life. I've always loved going there. Could be a because it's a family owned business and by that I mean my family. My Grandma Gloria used to take my sister and I there all the time and even as kids we LOVED THE FOOD! I would recommend it to anyone.
You know, the meal was great, until the wait staff actually had the balls to ask us to vacate our table because they were busy. Hello, what about our business???? How rude! I'm not in a hurry to go back there!
When I first walked in I was pleased not to see a new super upscale steak joint that overcharges and under performs.
It was a laid back place where you could have a cold beer and a good meal. Lucky for all of us its a great meal. The steaks are excellent.
The service was great. My water glass was filled up more times then a top restaurant.
GO HERE NOW... I was traveling through for work and now I know where to go back to if I am ever in the area again.
I have been going to Tuckers for a number of years. Great place. However, I recently went to the West Couny loacation with the wife, father, and my young son (2 y/o). We were told they did not have hi-chairs or booster seats. Love the restaurant, but this shortcoming will definitely affect my decision to go back anytime soon.
