Description

Established in 1999, Lorenzo's Trattoria is a restaurant that offers a variety of food items and wines. Its appetizers menu includes crispy calamari and zucchini strips, grilled eggplant stuffed with cheese, arancini and creamy-herbed polenta with mushrooms. Lorenzo's Trattoria offers bibb, tomato and mozzarella and Caesar salads. Its entrees include penne with capers in tomato sauce, roasted portabella, risotto served with shrimp and scallops, salmon with green beans, fettuccine Alfredo with truffled oil and beef tenderloin sandwiches. Lorenzo's Trattoria serves a range of desserts, including cinnamon amaretto bread pudding, cannoli with ricotta filling, nocello cr me brulee and spumoni ice cream. The restaurant provides catering services for private parties and business meetings. Lorenzo's Trattoria is located in St. Louis.

Had lunch (soup and salad) here on 4/9/10 and dinner on 4/23/10. The tomato and fresh mozzarella salad was excellent each time. The fish special and the halibut on 4/23/2010 were well-prepared -- and the side of polenta with combined with cream cheese and bacon was divine. The wine list is reasonably priced. The tables are well spaced. The food on each visit exceeded my expectations.

It gets better each time I go. Excellent traditional Italian and a nice location. Bar gets busy on weekends and wines by the bottle here are quite reasonable. It's a staple of The Hill even though it is a relative newcomer. Mainstream and not too fancy, but a great spot for an intimate dinner or group of friends. A must try for the hill. Decor rating is low because it's simple and bland, but not bad.

Wonderful friendly Italian. Excellent antipasto, great cappellini with tomato, terrific striped bass special with couscous. Has to be one of the best mixes of good food and friendly service on the hill.

Lorenzo's has the best gorgonzola dip that is served to ever table. I could eat the whole ramekin, oh wait I did, ever time I have gone! Lorenzo's makes homemade gnocchi that is always plump with the right density. It's my favorite Italian place in St. Louis. We always have nice servers who are attentive regardless of how much we are buying that evening.

Have the Poached Halibut on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes with artichoke tomato broth!! Mouth watering! Good wine selection. Friendly staff. The so-so decor doesn't matte when you are eating such great food.

Food is always tasty. Several dining rooms so it doesn't feel like you're in a big restaurant. We asked for a private room and got a glassed in room in the kitchen! It was perfect for six. Got to watch the wait-staff and chef do their thing while we talked and laughed as loud as we wanted.
