I was a regulater at Sybergs westport but after what had happend lastnight I will never return The bartender was so snobby and rude. She lied to the manger and told him I called her a bitch and then kicked me out i spend a lot of money at that place and Even if i did call her a bitch that isnt a reason to kick someone out of a bar!!
I am boycotting that rude place!! and everyone else should as well
The bar food, when cooked well, is almost unbeatable...almost.
They do put out pizza and wings for free during happy hour...That is a plus.
The wait staff is what is mainly wrong with this place. I don't know how they do so much business with the staff that they have. I have yet to go into this place and feel like I have been waited on thoroughly. They are never smiling, they are never nice and usually leave you hanging with refills, getting your bill etc...
To sum it up, there food is great about 50% of the time, but when it is good, its good.
Their staff sucks.
Sybergs Westport is part of a chain of restaurants including the original Sybergs on Gravois and helen Fitzgerald's on Lindbergh. The menu is loaded with the standarad sandwhiches and entrees, but also includes some unique fares, like the Shark Chunks (Yum!) and a Cajun Chicken sandwhich that's swimming in spices. The wait staff is professional, and the whole experience is not bad on the wallet, either. Try the large bar area for some after work frivolities, too!
If you are lucky enough to get Amy or Christina you are going to have a good night. Other than the good bar staff, Syberg's is about average. They recently opened a patio, the food is slightly above average, only due to the Syber'gs restaurant being right next door. Good hang out for the business traveler, but not much attraction for a younger crowd.
The main thing I like the most about sybergs westport is that every monday night starting at 9:00pm they have karaoke. My friend steve Murphy dj's. It is a lot of fun and the environment is great for just a night out with the guys or gals or just to sing and act crazy on stage singing your favorite song!
I like that bar, I can proudly call myself one of the regulars in that place, true that I havent spend as much time as I did before there, but I still enjoy the times that I spend there, the food is good (there is a restaurant right next to the bar), I know pretty much most of the staff there (night crew), and the managers are pretty cool people as well, I see some of them at the casino from time to time. The other regulars are funny and great people to hang around, I have a lot of good memories from that place. Two thumbs up..
Good bar. OK restaurant. We went to the bar one night and the restaurant the next night on our vacation. The bar is a great space! Lots of TVs and tables to sit at. There was entertainment both nights we were there. The restaurant is OK. Not bad, just not great.
I work downtown near the Market location and frequent for lunch. Over the past year one of the popular menu items (Chicken Strips with their famous wings sauce) quality has gone way down. The strips were the size of of an actual chicken breast cut into three long strips, then suddenly the strips changed size to now being the size of shriveled up pieces smaller than the size of your pinkie. The portion sizes have dropped dramatically, I was actually served 9 french fries with my latest order and the chicken wrap has decreased in size by 1/3...
Prices are high for the quantity lunch is usually @$13 with a tip & drink but the portion is barely enough to fill your tummy!
Food is tasty but portions are skeet for the price!
The famous wing sauce is awesome though!
Went to the one on Dorsett for the first time. Very long wait to get seated on a Saturday night. Then the live music started: totally ruins a dining experience when your plates are vibrating all over the table...
In St. Louis on vacation and staying at the hotel next door. Decided to try them for dinner and was in no way impressed. The menu does have some unique things (shark) but only has one burger and the steaks are expensive. Customer service wasn't very good either. I would prolly not go here ever again. Definitely not recommend this place. I would rather travel somewhere that the food would be better and people friendlier.
