Central Illinois premier fine dining establishment, we specialize in a fusion of French, Contemporary American and Asian Cuisine. Open 7 Days a week at 5:00pm we have been providing fine dining With a Groove since 1998. Our menu is ever changing and includes Filet Mignon, Sea Bass, Sushi and Chops. We have 121 different wines available with 57 of them by the glass. The best metropolitan cuisine right here on the west side of Springfield. We also have several private dining options for parties. Welcome to Indigo.
WOW!!!! We we supposed to go to another restaurant but really wanted to do a late lunch at a nice restaurant. The other place could not accommodate our request to open early for a party of 20, but Indigo gladly opened early for us.
We started out with appetizers. I haven't tasted more flavorful appetizers and we frequent restaurants. The calamari was so tasty with a nice bite to it, followed by amazing stuffed dates wrapped with bacon (and I am not a bacon lover), brie which was also wonderful, scallops that everyone loved...everything we tasted was better than the next.
Then, out of 20 people - every person really enjoyed their main course. The menu is not traditional and they add a twist to every dish, but what great combos they put together. We had a few kids with us and even their chicken tenders were delicious - very juicy and fresh.
Desserts - the carrot cake was to die for!!!!! They make their desserts from scratch and boy can you tell. The flourless chocolate cake was also very good. I can't speak for anything else because I didn't try any other desserts. However, judging from what I did have - you can't go wrong.
Indigo is a MUST TRY!!! You won't be disappointed, unless however you only like traditional dishes with no twists. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST Indigo - what a pleasant surprise!
I just can't say enough about the food and how wonderfully accommodating the restaurant was.
Indigo is in a class by itself (at least in Springfield). Sure, it's expensive; if you go, take your Visa. The food and the service make it worth every penny. Servers are beautiful and well trained. They attend to your every desire. The menu is fresh, occassionally changing (although not as much as I'd like to see it change). Try it; it's worth spending the extra money.
Indigo has a creative menu that is always yummy. The staff seems comfortable, relaxed and is generally very knowledgeable. The large blue dog art takes some time to get used to, but then again, isn't that what good company is for?
