Los Agaves, Springfield

Bland, bland, bland. Los Agaves, like all Mexican restaurants in the Spfld area, has adjusted its cuisine to favor the Central Illinois palate, which cannot tolerate anything with more seasoning than plain white toast. Service and decor are fine - no problems. Servings are certainly ample - it's just that the food doesn't deserve to be called Mexican.

Excellent food. I have been searching for a great Mexican restaurant for years and have finally found it! I ate there on Monday and am going back on Sunday. I will be a frequent diner here.

I had been there 3 times so far. What attracted me was their food choices and the taste. 3rd time I went with my family and the waiter was very rude. He served us meat in the food when we ordered for non-meat. Also my son is fond of crispy nachos and we wanted more chips and salsa. He just ignored as if we never asked for them until he brings the check and a reminder about the chips. The ultimate shock my husband and I got was when he asked us whether we left more tip on the table even after he observed us adding 22% tip to the credit card receipt.We never ever learned about waiters discussing about more tip for such a bad service the give to Customer. That's it!! we are not going there any more and we'll inform our friends about the rudeness.

Everyone always talks about how great xochimilco is, but in my opinion the food here is the best mexican in town. The service I have had has always been exceptional, and the drinks affordable and effective :)

i have eaten at several mexican restaurants, and LOS AGAVES is the best in town.plus the prices are great, the people are very friendly and helpful,a great family restaurant to go

this place is really nice and laid back. It is very comfortable. Food is great and the service is awesome.
