Guzzardo's Italian Villa, Lincoln

hands down the best Italian place in all of central IL. friendly staff, great atmosphere, pizza is phenomenal, steaks are mouth watering - everything is amazing. definitely someplace worth stopping in lincoln for.

I just drove 5 hours round trip for dinner there. I live in Chicago, so-called city with the best pizza and steaks. I go to Lincoln instead for a wonderful meal. It's a very clean, family owned business. The best pizza is the Nick's Special. Perfect crust and perfectly balanced ingredients. Guzzardo's is better than Lawry's and Gibson's on steaks and to be honest I think it rivals Aragawa at Shinbashi in Japan (the famous Kobe and Wagyu steakhouse). The people know me and treat me like family even though they see me every few months. I am always greeted with a smile and a feeling that I am welcome. At Lawry's downtown Chicago you are treated like a case number on a mass production line. I would recommend Guzzardo's highly. They also do catering.

I ate at Guzzardo's this evening for a special meal with family. I had not been there in years but had always enjoyed it so looked forward to trying it out again. It was even better than I ever remembered and the others were delighted we went there too. The New York Strip was on special this evening but it was still absolutely divine, as was the twice-baked potato. The salad bar was scrumptious and had a large variety. The restaurant's decor is also cozy and lovely, the seating comfortable. A definite must go-to when wanting a great meal in Lincoln!!!
