Vic's Pizza, Springfield

I love Vic's Pizza, great food and wonderful service.

Vic's is #1 in our book, the pizza is what is was when Vic and Marcy owned it. Service was super and the girls that wait on you are great. We were there upon our return for a family reunion and felt we had never left. They are AAAAAAAA+++++ in our book.

I just wanted to say that my friends and I used to eat Vic's pizza in Springfield IL, two or three times a month in the mid 80's and into the early 90's. It was standing room only on Friday and Saturday nights of every weekend. Now I don't see the crowds like I used to waiting outside just to get in the door. We have been back a few times and to us the pizza itself has changed. As we remember it it had a seasoned dough that for what ever reason is gone now along with the taste that made Vic's pizza the best around hands down. I see the current owner has tried numerous things to bring the crowds of people that once patronized Vic's pizza back to the establishment with no avail. It's sad to say but either the current owner changed the original recipe or he never got the orginal recipe when he purchased the business. Oh how we wish they would go back to the original recipe. I know if they were to do so the people would come back also!!

I used to live in Illinois, in Sprinfield, and have since moved quite a bit, and I have to say that I still think Vics Pizza is the best that is out there. If I could get them to mail me their pizz (cost is no concern) I would eat it everyday.

I must say I do believe Vic's has the best pizza in all of Illinois!!! The service is wonderful....thank-you Amanda! I am very impressed on how well the restraunt is maintained! It is a wonderful place to take the family to eat. After 9p.m. on sun-thurs everything is half off. WHAT A DEAL!!!!!!

ive been eatting at vics for yaers now and i think its the best pizza in town.every thing is freshly hand cut .they use real mozz cheese.it does take along time on friday and saturday nights in the drive thru ,but it still taste great when i get it home !!

This Pizza used to be the best in town. It went way down hill. I gave it one last try a month or so back and the pizza was horrible. The crust was lick a cracker, there was barely any sauces, the pizza was over baked and the cheese was dry. I t was like eating a big pizza cracker. Dont was te the money go to Joes on Jefferson street in Springfield. You get an excellent Pizza and your moneys wort there.

In the 80's and 90's I would have rated this pizza 5 stars. When Wayne owned Vic's it ran like a machine. You got what you ordered when you ordered it and it was the BEST! Vic's was always packed, Wayne had 2 drive thru windows, a packed dining room, 4 people who's only job was to answer the phones and take to go orders, 3 guys made the pasta's and salads and pizza dough, about 12 guys just to dress the pizza's and 3 guys stood in front of 3 of the biggest pizza ovens I have ever seen to make sure each pie was baked to perfection. In recent years I have re visited Vic's a few times, the place was almost empty just 3 other tables were occupied. Our salads were ok nothing like what I remembered and it took about 45 minutes to get our pizza and it was wrong. We waited another 25 for the replacement. The staff was friendly but incompetent to say the least. A year or so later I tried the drive thru on Wabash and that was a huge disappointment I see why that location closed. Over all I would rate Vic's as average today not bad just average. I hope the new owners can raise their standards; I will try Vic's again one day to see if it has gotten any better.

I have been going to Vic's Pizza since i was a little girl. My whole Family (Aunts, uncles, grandparents, would all meet and have a huge table waiting for us and we enjoyed it. They did have two stores in springfield, which the one on wabash was much closer, but they closed that one down. but i will think their food taste great, when they quote you a time on when your pizza is done, they are right. also i love the fact they have a dribe thgou. most pizza placed you have to go in for carry out. when your a mom with three kids you don't want to have to get them all out just to pick up a pizza. i think they are a great pizza place.

vics pizza is the best pizza in sangamon county and the pasta is wonderful. its always served hot. and the toppings are always to the edge of the pizza and the servers are quick and polite.
