This historic family owned and operated hotel, on Grafton's Main Street, offers twenty-two rooms, ten secluded cottages, and a four-bedroom lodge on Timber Ridge, high above the confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers. There is also a restaurant and saloon on-site, with a full menu of delicious dishes, cold drinks, and live entertainment on the weekends.
Stayed this past weekend for two nights - very nice! Small local hotel, updated within the past two years. Rooms were clean, nice bedding, standard rooms are on the smaller side but for a few more $ you can have a larger room if this is what you have to have. This hotel was originally built in the late 1800's! Besides you are going there for tourism not to sit in a room all day. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Please keep in mind you are traveling to Grafton, IL there are no chain stores or hotels in the area (except the one gas station). Food at the restaraunt was very good. Will definately stay there again!
stayed there sat nt. Very clean (though lamp table where I laid my jacket was quite dusty). Ate fried fish in restaurant which was good but really salty. Pretty skimpy continental breakfast included watered down orange juice. When we told mgmt they didnt seem terribly interested or concerned.
my wife and i stayed two nights. the first in the hotel the second in one of the cottages. we were told that our bike and the bikes of several other patrons were not allowed to be parked in front of the hotel, regardless of the sign that stated no parking between certain times, we were told to park them under the patio deck or the gravel lot (not good for your paint). the room was small and you could hear everything around you, but overall ok if you keep in mind the place was built in the 1800's. the second night in the cottage was alot better, aside frome the trip uphill on the bike. the cottage was spacious with a nice deck, and jacuzzi tub that would easily fit three. but for the price i think we might try one of the other places in town next time.
