for the past 2.5 years i have heard how great this place is. i have no idea what people are talking about. i thought i would take my girlfriend out for an early valentine's day dinner at a fancy place (stupid me),for $55 and a $6 tip (for 2 adults)we got a plate full of old frozen food and a salmon that was about the size of a small crappie for $61 total!!!! the calamari was old and rubbery about the size of your small finger around.we where put in a corner with a sticky table and an old fire place that didn't work.i ordered a diet pepsi that came in a glass way too small filled to the top with ice so after about 3 sips i was out and then had to wait 5- 10 mins for a refill each time!!!!....save your money and go to joe's crab shack.for this much i could have brought a whole family with me..thnx joah's for the early valentine's day waste!!!

EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE!!
By Stefanie, 5/30/05
If you want to eat seafood in the Peoria area, don't go to Jonah's unless you want terrible service. I had reservations for about a week and a half, and we got a great table overlooking the river, and after sitting there patiently for 20 minutes not one single person came to even ask if we wanted a drink or appetizer or anything!! They weren't even that busy. They have no respect or regard for their customers, the manager on duty didn't even offer a solution! I work in hospitality and I used to refer guests to Jonah's for good seafood, but they have proven to be one of the most rudely staffed restaurants in the Peoria area, and i will no longer send them the slightest bit of business!!

We had our daughter's rehearsal dinner at Jonah's. We were VERY impressed. The room was downstairs with a view of the Illinois River. The food was cooked right in the room! Everything was excellent! Thank you for helping to make this very memorable occasion perfect!

I have spent the last week and a half in Peoria on business. I have been to numerous restaurants this week using recommendations from Yahoo local with mixed results. Jonah's is definitely the best place I have eaten and I would highly recommend it. I had Jambalaya Makin Shark which was really tasty. Enjoy! The waitresses were v friendly and helped me through the menu. Having an english accent probably helped on this front.

Best Seafood Restaurant around area
By user100, 5/3/06
We recently took a trip to Jonah's Seafood House because we heard that they were the best place in the area to get great/fresh seafood. The whole place was wonderful! Our server was a delight and made sure we were having a wonderful experience. The food was all and more what we had expected. Even if you are not a seafood lover, like my daughter, there are other things on the menu to fit anyone's taste. I will continue to eat at Jonah's Seafood House with my family.

Totally awful evening. Messed up reservations. Lobster was mushy, tough & no flavor (frozen). Martini had very little liquor. Order came wrong. Veggies were strong & bitter. Never brought dessert. Got awful food poisoning about 4 am that lasted all the next day - AWFUL! What started out as a birthday celebration ended as a really bad time.

Food is very good. The oyster bar also has a menu with most of the same items on it if the wait is to long for the resteraunt. Sometimes there is live entertainment in the bar area and that can be fun

Great Seafood
By Nicholas, 10/12/06
I would suggest the almond encrusted salmon. Incredible dish. The atmosphere is great with a beautiful view of the river and downtown Peoria. Great place for a romantic dinner.
