Haddad Restaurant, Peoria

This place was my favorite while in college. Great food. The atmosphere may be a little off-putting at first, but the more you go, the warmer the family gets. I go very infrequently now, but always stop in if in the area. The daily specials are always fantastic. Thursday is the best day (Stuffed Potatoes and Curry Beef). Definetly worth a try!

This place makes awesome middle eastern food. The Gyros there are the best I've ever had. There are alot of other dishes that are just as good (if you are adventurous enough to try them) like the Kibbeh, and Baklava. However, don't be fooled by the appearance of the place. It doesn't look like much. The tables, booths, and chairs are outdated and there's very little ambiance, but the food is great so who cares.

We takeout every year for my birthday to serve Gyros, cabbage rolls, hummous, taboulleh and baklava. Great daily specials. Wonderful family owned restaurant. Just like eating in Beirut!
