Unexpected and very enjoyable evening. Hotel Concierge recommended it and we were very happy that they did. Went on their Fish Fry Friday and the place was hopping. Server was pleasant and very helpful. Four of us had drinks and dinner but our bill was only $100. Great Risotto and my buddy loved the Fish. Desserts were amazing!!! Best part was the bar which had a fun band playing so we went there after dinner and had a great time. I ended up dancing the night away with the bridesmaids from a wedding reception that was in their ballroom. Didn't expect to find such an enjoyable and yet affordable place in Rockford. You do not want to miss their homemade desserts, wow!!!!
I went to the restaurant with my wife, each of us had a Hamburger with American Cheese (a $1 charge extra). We did not upcharge to french fries and got the chips that came with the burger instead. The chips were housemade and not crispy, and even toothbreaking in some cases. I ordered a salad which came on a small appetizer plate and had lettuce and dressing (a $3 upcharge). I got 1 beer, my wife got 1 sierra mist. This meal cost us $32 without the tip. Service was OK but nothing that would warrant such a price tag. Go to Cliffbreakers and spend your money a little more wisely. This place nickel and dimes like crazy to hide their outrageous prices.
was very unhappy with service . waiter changed attitude when we asked for just water. never returned to table to ask if we wanted more fish.
at one time the service and food were both good. now it is just food and it is overpriced in this economy.
We first heard of this place from a local's recommendation. The food is old school Italian and according to my Italian husband tastes like his grandmother's! We make this a must every time we're in Rockford area.
I ordered a mesculin salad, a sparkling water, and the salmon with spinach. The waiter brought my salad, which was 90% spinach with wilted other greens. He forgot my water and didn't come back. The salmon arrived and was rubbery and overcooked. THe manager stopped by and asked how my meal was. I told him the truth, he offered me something else. I had the crab cakes, which were burnt on the outside and cold on the inside. The ambiance is non-existant, it looks like a tacky joint you'd see on the Soprano's. It was still pretty expensive, and I was really disappointed. Wouldn't recommend.
