Fifty years ago, the concept of pizza was so new to the area that Leonard and Mary Harris had to give it away to get people to try it. But, the infamous taste that would become Harris Pizza caught on, and half a century later Harris Pizza is a household name in the Quad Cities. Known as The Original Quad City Style Pizza ae(cent), the taste youac2ll find at Harris Pizza is unlike any other with our hand-tossed crust, quality ingredients and one-of-a-kind sausage. Often imitated, never duplicated over fifty years later. A family-owned business, Harris Pizza is now run by the third generation of the Harris family, as we watch fourth and fifth generation customers coming through our doors.
Still the best but it has changed from years ago in some small ways...they don t let the cheese get brown like they use-to, there have been times when the cheese cubes are not even melted, the crust is still the best...just wish they wouldn t pop all of the crust bubbles...they didn t use-to and those were the best pieces...please just brown the cheese.
Do not get the Harris Pizza wings. They are soggy, like they been sitting out all day and heated at the last minute and served. Frozen Banquet chicken taste better than there's. I do like there chicken fiesta pizza, that is really good. They should just stick to pizza and nothing else.
I hate to rag on a local eatery but after numerous attempts to try to get Harris to 'grow on me' I just couldn't do it. I tried a variety of pies and they all basically taste the same of grease and salt overload. A good pizza starts with the sauce, and its practically nonexistant here. And cutting it in strips is just ridiculous.
When you're a legend in your field, there are going to be haters that attempt to bring you down. T and Kaia are those haters. Harris is a legend, pure and simple, and they have the quality in their pizzas to back it up every time!!!
Are you kidding me? After recently moving to the quad cities and hearing about this place I decided to try it. The cheese was not browned, the crust was ok but nothing special. I ordered a large sausage, mushoom and onion and it was $21. YES $21 dollars - who do they think they are? I could get 2 larges for that at other places and I would rather have a $3 frozen anyway. I wouldnt go there again if it was free.
You order breadsticks, and it does not come with marinara, 90 cents for Marinara..Extra I will pay for...but you get none! Bunch of crap. 8 dollars for 5 mozz sticks. But even with that...90 cents for a tiny cup of sauce.
We have been gone from QC for 30 years yet I NEVER pass thru without stopping to bring one home to Rockford.
It was our family dinner when we all got together at Christmas.
If you have never tried it you have never had the best!
