Take it from a lad who grew up in Chicago goin' to Gino's East on Rush St. Although I will always be bias toward the deep dish, this place is a gem for all you thin crust pizza lovers. I will say if you don't get their sausage though you are seriously missing out on one of the tastiest, unique spiced blends I've ever had. For those who may have tried it once and have been disappointed, try em again. I frequent a lot of restaurants and they can have an off night here and there. My personal favorite is a sausage, pepperoni, & green pepper pizza cooked well done the give the cheese a nice browning and the crust a good snap. Mmmm. I'm ordering one now.
I go here as much as possible, if someone comes from out of town to visit with me I have to take them there, the staff is great and the food is awesome. Anyway if you want great food for a great price this is the place to go.
This Restaurant can NOT be beat....Their food is phenominal and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming!! My favorite is the Chicken Parmesean and the Garlic Cheese Bread....I have moved away sadly and every time we are in town we will eat at only this restaurant ever day!!!
Gordon Ferguson Yackle!!!
Pizza has always been great and is tops of the city. They make alot of their food from scratch. I have had some of their freshly baked bread and rolls. So fresh! I think thier menu, portions, and values can match anyone in the city. Try it out, and you won't be dissappointed.
I was born & raised in Rockford & ate at the Capri for as long as I can remember. I moved to southern California 24 years ago & whenever I go to visit I make sure my flight gets me there in time to stop at the Capri for pizza. It's the best-every element of it has it's own flavor-from the crust to the sauce to the toppings. If there were a way to ship it I'd have one sent every week. We have a lot of great restaurants in southern California but there isn't a pizza that comes even close to the Capri.
This pizza used to be really gross when I was growing up. Something has changed. I had it as an adult at a social function, not knowing where the pizza came from. I was too embrassed to ask around about where the pizza came from when I was supposed to be networking but the taste blew my mind. Incredibly enough, a couple of months later I saw someone throwing away an empty pizza box, recognized it and stopped to ask where it was from. I've been eating it every since and am always raving about it. It's the cheese I think, there's something really special about the cheese. Try it, it's wonderful (and I am a hugh pizza lover).
