I actually worked at Leombruni's in the mid 80's! The Leombruni's are a very good family. They have been in Byron for as long as I can remember. My grandfather even helped them get their liquor license! Their pizza had a very distinctive flavor and was cut into squares versus slices. The entire menu is made up from traditional family recipes and is WAY better than any fast food. I haven't visited since 2000, but I am looking forward to eating there again this summer.
Meals are pretty good, not what I'd call spectacular and a bit pricey for the quality. Restaurant is clean and well-decorated, with a separate bar but since the servers work both sides service can be awfully slow. Pizza is generally good. Better than fast food, but in the several times I've visited, nothing to write home about.
The food was average at best. Being a vegetarain I asked for marinera sauce and was told I would not be able to substitute it for the meat sauce without paying 2.50 extra because it was frozen and the chef would have to heat it up. It was absolutely ridiculous being as I went there to have a meal cooked for me. Because of this I was unable to order what I wanted. The portions were small and overpriced. On top of everything our waitress (whom was not very polite) overcharged us at the end of the meal. I would not recomend this restaurant to anyone and will certainly never go back.
Their pizza is absolutely the best - from the crust to the sauce to the toppings. Their menu carries a great selection of delicious Italian dishes & desserts and a wide selection of wines. The decor is beautiful (in both the restaurant & bar). The murals, painted by local artist Toni Cacciatore are beautiful. The owners, Ernie & Mimi are a delight! They also offer top-notch catering. Take the time to make the drive to Byron. You won't be disappointed!
Leombruni's Italian Village has the best pizza in Byron. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the service is good too. The delivery time is excellent, although the price is a little expensive, but it is definatly worth it. They are known for their pizza, but the other stuff is good too.
