Wishbone - Lincoln, Chicago

I love this restaurant!! The servers are really nice and down to earth, and always have good recommendations...my grandmother was one of the greatest home cooks ever, and eveything on the menue tastes like it was cooked at my grandmothers house!!

I dined today at WishBone down by Oprah's restaurant. I like the fact that they have valet parking at a fairly reasonable price. We get inside and the place had a very cajun inspired feel to the place. I didn't like the cramped space at all. It was like there was no elbow room or hardly any walking space between the tables. Personally, I'm not used to that in a restaurant. The food was pretty good, I ate there for brunch. I never been to a place where they mixed breakfast and dinner type foods together. Like, Crabfish, red skin potatoes and eggs. Anyhow, the food was o.k., I definately had better. I think they should combine their lunch menu (if they have one) with their brunch menu. I felt as though It wasn't enough variety for me! I played it safe and got pancakes,eggs and bacon. The Waitress we had was nice, but we had to keep calling her over to the table, instead of her checking on us. She also was pretty slow about giving and taking back the check. We had to sit there an extra 15 minutes waiting. Overall I give the restaurant a 3 stars out of 5

One of my favorite lunch spots to hang out on holidays and days off. It's comfortable to sit at, and they have great food. It's a diverse clientelle and reminds me of both New York and L.A. How? I don't know.

one of my favorite places in Chicago. The black bean cakes are to die for!!!! Great vegetarian AND carnivore options ...makes me and my boyfriend happy. Love the funky decor too.

went there on Mother's Day 2006 and waited 15 minutes, no problem! You must try the SHRIMP AND GRITS, perfect dish for brunch or dinner, lots of shrimp and a touch of wine, very rich and comforting; a huge compliment from a real Southerner! The artwork is funky and the Tshirts are terrific. GET THERE NOW!

This place will make all your wishes come true! Yeah, I been here a mess of times! Service, atmosphere, & of course the food is always dee-lish! My wife and I went there tonight. She's vegetarian and she's happy with the selections they have for her palette. I had the Blue Plate special: Blackened Chicken, mashed taters, black beans & rice, and cole slaw for $7.99 with a tall cold Winter Ale for $3.25! Ahhhh! What's also cool is they got this sign up when you walk in that says Adult Swim....meaning if yer gonna have children with ya after 7pm, they're asking that they be on their best behavior (I concur!) and it also asks to please curb any electronic noises such as cell phones and the like (mmmhmmm!). All of this kinda helps the atmosphere of the place, making it a nice relaxing restaurant to get a top notch experience! (And oh them desserts...sheesh!)

Whenever I'm downtown, and don't know where to go, I always end up at Wishbone. The cheese grits, catfish and people watching are worth the wait on the weekends.

I went on a trip to Wishbone for brunch one day and I just fell in love with this restaurant. The outside is very artistic and colorful, but when you go inside, the ambiance is warm and inviting. I ordered the blackened catfish with cheese grits, toast, and eggs. It was the best breakfast I have ever had! To this day, whenever I go to Wishbone, that's what I order. It's not the cheapest restaurant, but you'll be thankful for every bite.
