Copper pots and flower arrangements adorn the white stucco walls of this upscale Greek restaurant, only five minutes by cab from downtown Chicago. In the winter months, a large stone fireplace blazes away. Along with the usual array of appetizers, seafood is the specialty of the house, especially the sea bass and trout, which are filleted table-side. Enjoy the great barbecued lamb special on Sunday. Big parties can order off of a special menu. A nice selection of wine is also available.
I love Santorini's! I felt like I was in a restaurant in Greece, same interior, same atmosphere, same food, same staff. The lamb and wine was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a real Greek restaurant experience.
I recently went there for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The free valet was a definite draw. I enjoyed the ambience and appreciated the attentive service midday. The navy bean soup I ordered was fantastic. I absolutely loved the salmon salad and enjoyed the large portion of grilled salmon. I shared one order of yogurt with honey and nuts for dessert with my friend, which was delish. I'll definitely be back and recommend this place to family and friends.
Great seafood and lamb. Just there and the place is better than ever...3rd trip and we will go back. For those reading the ratings here I wonder where those people who give this very solid restaurant negatives...IF they ate someplace else. Santorini is very very good.
We have been going to Santorini's for at least 8 years and have never ever had a bad meal there. Their food is exquisitely prepared and the best available in Greektown - bar none. (There is absolutely no comparison to the left-over mush served at the Greek Isles - a place I refuse to eat.) Lunch or dinner is equally great. Wait staff is more than accommodating. Try ordering a bunch of different appetizers and sampling all night. That's our favorite thing to do....a little saganaki (flaming cheese), taramusalata (fish roe), horiatiki (greek village salad), and broiled octupus (YUM!)with a side dish of that delishous Greek rice with the red gravy on top - then just share everything. Also the lamb chops are just superb, but very expensive. In fact, we're going there for dinner tonight with friends. Eat well, live long.
