horrible place, horrible service, i will never go back again!!! i cant understand how people go there, we ordered 1 lamb shawerma sandwich, 1 chicken shawerma sandwich, and 1 falafel sandwich, the meat was cold and chewy, and tasted like dirt, and they made all the three sanwiches the same way, they put the same cucumber and tomatoe salad in the 3 of them without pickles or onions or anything that makes a good shawerma sandwich a good one!!! and dont get me started on their (non-tabuleh) tabuleh, there was large bunches of parsley with a little bites of tomatoes and thats it, it had no dressing!!! and i believe the parsely wasnt clean eaither, it tatsted like dirt

Best falafel on the cheap!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/1/10
I LOVE Sultan's Market! I eat there almost once a week, and all their menu items are great. From the chicken shawerma, kefta kabob to the popular falafel sandwhich, you can't go wrong with Sultan's!

Even Bill O'Reilly would be impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/14/08
Best falafel in the city is correct. the full-on sandwich is a wonderful cheap, quick, veg-friendly meal that is just messy enough to fit in well with the rest of Chicago cuisine. The food is whipped up by the affable and impressively speedy staff, you're in and out with time to spare before your lunch break is done. it's nice to know that wicker park's cheap eats can still maintain a little quality without losing their real estate.

Delicious pitas and a great buffet
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/12/08
I love the pitas here--they put extra Jerusalem salad in them which is a nice treat. It's not my favorite falafel in the city but it's pretty close--and a lot of people love it. The shwarma is also pretty good, and they put a generous amount of hummus and spicy sauce in the pitas. They also have an interesting array of Middle Eastern treats and some unusual drinks, like yogurt drinks and (my favorite) aloe juice. The service is very fast and it's quite reasonably priced.

Best Falafel Pita EVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/08
Being from southeastern michigan and having had a lot of authentic middle eastern cuisine back home it is often difficult to find equally good food elsewhere; however, Sultan's Market rivals if not beats almost anything I have had before. The falafel is made fresh every 20 or 30 minutes and the hummus is great as well as the spicy sauce they add. It is also very inexpensive ($2.50 for the falafel pita), I am salivating just thinking of it.

The best food, the best people, the best prices and the best ambiance. The salad bar is the best one in Wicker Park and the falafel is the best in the city. When I leave Chicago this is the place I will miss the most.

Fine quick tasty middle eastern
By Mark, 11/30/05
They have a nice by-the-pound counter with tasty items like falafel, roasted vegetables, baba ganoush. Everything is freshly made, including the inexpensive sandwiches from the main counter.

You will wish you could never be full !
By CBrownColors, 9/14/05
I could eat thier chicken shwarma and their faffel till I died. I'm serious, it's that good. I have never had it so good. I try every Meditarrian and Eastern restuarant I can find and by far Sultan's Market is the best. I wish it was a chain and available everywhere, I would eat it everyday for every meal.
