The Parthenon Restaurant and Banquets, Chicago

Food: Excellent. Been going here for years and will keep going back. Never fail to have the saganaki, I've tried it other places, but none compares!! This visit I had gyros (real Lamb!) perfect, the pita was incredible. I also had a Greek salad, so fresh! I usually get a combination plate as I can't decide and everything is so wonderful. The Spanakopita is one of my favorites. Others had the pan fried squid, again others pale in comparison. You can make a meal of bread, wine, saganaki and good company! Selection: Great selection of Greek food, salad, lamb, chicken, kabobs, something for everyone. Service: We've never had poor service! Even on their busiest. Everyone is very friendly, the servers seem to enjoy their work! $: Great value, The portions are solid, and the freshnest of the food and quality of the chef is a perfect pairing. Ambiance: Fun! Been there for a nght on the tow, post theatre, even special occasions. An all round go to place. Come again: We will go again and again!!

My favorite restaurant in Greektown! This is where flaming saganaki was INVENTED, and it's still the best! Also try the Chicken Kotopita, and go in on Friday to have the special Veal Lemonato - NOT to be missed! Call ahead and ask them to set one aside for you, they often run out! Be sure to finish off your meal with an order of Baklava - delicious! OPahhhh!!!

A favovrite of my families since I was a kid. Now I live by the place and try and take an adavantge of eating there as much as I can. The family and staff that run the place are full of hospiltality. The food is awesome, need I say more if you know greek food it doesnt get any better.

This restaurant is very authentic and the atmosphere is wonderful. We went on a Saturday night, but did not have to wait even though it was quite crowded. This is not the place for an intimate dinner (unless there's a hidden back room we didn't see), but is great for large families and groups. We had the saganaki (flaming cheese) as did almost every other table and it was delicious. We are not Greek, but my daughter works at a Greek restaurant in our hometown and ordered an assortment of appetizers and side dishes so we could sample several different things. We especially like the pan-friend zucchini keftedes and the chicken mini shish kabobs. The waiter seemed distracted and did not check back after we received our food to see if everything was okay (another person brought the food out). We wondered if he did not think us worth his time as we just ordered appetizers, but we ordered 5 of them which equalled the cost of 2 entrees, but we also didn't have any alcohol drinks. Of course, if a waiter is a professional, it should not matter the total of the customer's bill. Still, we would recommend The Parthenon because of the great food, atmosphere and good prices.

Wow this is what Greece is all about I feel like I'm in Khaliks or Athens the wine, the Squid so fresh as if it was straight form the Aegean or the Mediterranean Sea. The moussaka was just phenomenal not to mention the dolmades and epically the baklava I'm utterly filled with the essence of a Greek way of life and I just must have more!

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Chicago. Good bread, good service, good food and good portions. The only place in Chicago that has lamb's head on the menu. Try the mezes and the hortas. The baklava is excellent. The family style dinner is a good value. My best advice is don't fill up on the bread.

We drive two hours on a regular basis to have dinner there. It is a wonderful experience - not just a place to eat. Everyone makes you feel at home and the food is fabulous. We love the scallops, the lamb, the flaming cheese and the roditys!!! It's a regular stop.
