Mac Arthur's Restaurant, Chicago

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK U FOR THE WOUNDERFUL FOOD THAT IS MADE, I COME FROM KALAMAZZO MICH JUST TO EAT THERE, I HAVE FRIENDS THATS GO THEY EVERYTIME THERE IN CHICAGO, THE EMPLYEE ARE SO NICE, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, WHEN I MOVE TO CHIIAGO I WOULD LOVE TO WORK THERE, IAM IN THE FOOD SERVICE BUSINESS ALSO, WE NEED A SOUL FOOD RESTARANT HERE.....

The food don't taste like it use to. They need to go back to the old ways of cooking the food and stop the CANS.

A good sign that a place is good is if it's busy. During your average dinner,or lunch times there is a line you can see from the street. It's worth the wait!! The food is great!!! It's served in a cafateria style,by kind servers.Because they have a big number of people to serve they don't have time to hold a conversation,besides I guarentee there are people standing behind you that aren't interested in what you want to talk about{LOL}. You can see the food is fresh,and you can taste it too.Beacuse there are so many people that come thru Mac Arthur's the food doesn't have time to get stale,or cold!!! However,I've been there a number of times.The food is always well done, perfectly seasoned,and VERY tasty!! If you come to Chicago and you want REALLY good Soul Food..you MUST stop by Mac Arthurs.There are other SoulFood places in Chicago,and some are very good,but none serve better food than Mac Arthurs. They just remodled their dining area.It's very comfortable and the ambiance makes the experience enjoyable.I've discovered the best time to avoid the crowd is to go between 2pm - 4pm,and expect to stand in line on Sundays no matter what time you go.However,it's worth the wait. I promise!!!

And put on 20lbs! Thinking about giving my apartment to moving the storage area!

the food is always great ,the people are friendly and the line is sooo long i always meet someone new (smile) . the look is okay but the old building look was wonderful. the best soul food next to my mothers cooking!

I live all the way out north and whenever me and my family get a chance we go to Macarthurs for dinner. We love them.... Only one problem ...the banana pudding is horrible: not enough pudding, it taste like you're just eating a vanilla wafer dessert.

The food is worth the wait. EVERYHTING is great. Seasoned just right, hefty portions! Satisfaction guaranteed.
