If you want great food, this is the place to frequent. Yes, the service is slow, but the FOOD is worth the wait! I have NEVA been disappointed! I frequent this place at least 6 times a year and have yet to be dissatisfied! When you wait for your food, you will meet interesting people, who strike up a coversation, not only about the food at Home Of The Hoagy, but about LIFE in general! I ve seen people come from MILES AWAY, just to grab a sandwhich or two! If you ve NEVA been to this place, I suggest you get by there & experince this delightful treat on the South SIde Of Chi-Town, you ll be glad you did! This, I guarantee! QUESTION: Why is it that Home of the Hoagy has been in business for several years and has never attempted to franchise the business? If everyone loves this place why hasn t the business expanded the size of the store to accommodate all their customers?????

I absolutely luv this place, every since I was a lil girl. Unfortunately, I think that this establishment has this sandwhich market sewed up, &there is really no other competition, they have become very rude, & they no longer value their customers. It makes no sense to call your order in ahead, & u still have to wait, an unreasonable amt of time, especially coming from the south burbs, on ur lunch break!!! Come on people, u guys have got to do better by your clients, weve kept u n business, consider our feelings , & we will continue to patronage, the food is excellent, but we must work on manners, And making the food fast food thanx!

Food is good. Service is bad. Makes you wonder why you spend your money there. I always call in but it is a waste of time because it means nothing. They do nothing to prepare your order ahead of time, you wait just as long as a person who walks in. Always order a steak sandwich hot and sweet and fries with steak sauce. Very filling. Try it you will like it just go when you are not in a hurry and have a lot of patience.

I love this place. You need to order the fries with steak sauce. ADDICTIVE. It's always packed !! Standing room only. Just call ahead so you can grab your food and go.

The food is good but the employee's who take telephone orders are very absent minded ( for lack of another word not very nice); you constantly told to hold on ! hold on! hold on, before they even take your order. On top of that, It was no sense in me calling in when you get there 25 minutes later, your order is not ready, you're waiting as a walk-in order.

Was in Chitown this pass weekend from MS and decided to get a regular hoagy and fries with the sauce. Went there Saturday and the girl with dreads was soooooooooooo rude for no reason!! That turned me off. Then got back to relatives house and the hoagy was dry as hell and the bread was hard. Went back and asked for more hoagy juice and again the cashier was sooooo rude and when I got hyome this time the hoagy was so oily. I don't like this place like I used too and it won't be on the priority stop list anymore either.

Everytime I come home, I make sure my wife and I get us a sandwich...best sandwich I have ever tasted!!!

I LIVE IN ATLANTA BUT I STAYED IN CHICAGO FOR 4YRS AND I WAS INTRODUCED TO THIS PLACE BY MY WIFE AND WHEN WE COME TO CHICAGO HOME OF THE HOAGY IS OUR FIRST STOP AND I HAVE TO EAT AT LEAST 5 HOAGIES IN A 5 DAY STAY SO YOU GUYS ARE A MUST HAVE FIX FOR A HOAGY MONSTER SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK I REALLY LOVE YALL AND I AM COMING TO CHICAGO IN FEBUARY SO GET MY ORDER READY,LOL

I have been eating form HOME OF THE HOAGY for more than 30 years!!! My friend introduced me to this place and OMG!!!! I have been eating there ever since. I first had a hoagy and steak sandwich in 1978, if I am remembering correctly. I have now hooked my two children on the steak sandwich anf those glorious FRIES WITH SAUCE!!!! I have hooked countless friends on the steak sandwich as well. I LVE HOME OF THE HOAGY!!!! I live in Bellwood, IL., and I drive out to the shop.
