When Eila Marie Tripp left the farm in Michigan to marry Lawrence Andre Schweig, she could not have foreseen the adventure that lay ahead. Lawrence purchased Post Fisheries in 1950 and opened Lawrence's Fisheries and Schweig Smoked Fish at the bridge on Canal Street. From the tiny storefront, he sold fresh fish, some of which were brought in from Lake Michigan by his boat crew on the "Eila Marie". Fried shrimp, fish chips and chicken were also on the menu, along with a variety of smoked fish. Over the years, his sons, son-in-law, and grandchildren would add their time and talents to the family business. Commercial fishing ended in the 1960's, and along with it the wholesale and smoked fish operations. The second generation used this opportunity to grow the business by shifting focus to the retail product line. Numerous items were added to the menu and our signature breading and hot sauce recipes were developed. Customer response was tremendous!
Well it's been a while since I've been but, Lawrences is what's happening open 24 hours serving up delicious seasoned breaded seafood my favorites include: Fish and chips,Shrimp, scallops. And the hot sauce is swet and spiy and compliements the food. I suggest you call in your order first cause it does get crowded. And enjoy!
lawrence fisheries straight garbage !!!! if you like bad service this is the place for you. there staff is the worst and need to practice some manners.FOR VERY GOOD SHRIMP TRY GRAND SHRIMP HOUSE,ACROSS THE STREET FROM PROSSER HIGH SCHOOL VERY CLEAN AND THE BEST SERVICE, FRIENDLY STAFF....
I was extremely disheartened by Lawrence's recently when they messed up our order and wouldn;'t allow us to split the bill. The staff is rude and impolite. The food isn't as good as it used to be either.
I used eat it after the club at 230 in the morning and it was decent. My dad first introduce me to it back in the 70's and the fish and chips were the greatest. Now it isn't so good to me.
My department placed an order totaling $110.00 very recent. And was not satisfied with the service we received. Some of the order was missing, and the portions received did not substaniate the cost of the item. The Jumbo Shrimps had too much batter, which made up half the size, the catfish strips could have been mistaken for a childs portion. And after forgetting some of the order. We called the office back to notify them that an order was missing. The answering party at Lawrence advised they would send it out on the next delivery, but could not compensate anything for their mistake. We as company employees were on our lunch break, and it was indeed over. We were total dissatisfied with the service we received from this establishment that has been around for years. This was not the first time, we complained to Lawrence Fishery about an order. There was an incident last year. But we choose to give them another try and it was no different. Therefore, we will no longer order from your establishment..
