Very impressed. Went on a cold rainy night in July and it was not crowded at all (oh and free parking!) but the hostess said they were packed the night before. We were seated and looked at a very impressive menu. (during that time, the hostess took probably 5-6 phone orders!). We ordered Jasmine hot tea (enough for 2) and ordered the crab rangoon for appetizer. The tea was excellent and the crab rangoon was good (stronger taste than I've had before, but good and my boyfriend loved it, the sweet and sour sauce seems to be homemade - it's not overly sweet). We then ordered the Broccoli with Beef and Mongolian Beef - both were excellent and fresh although we seemed to like the Broccoli Beef a little better. My bf paid about $30 - it's a great value. We were going to try the sushi, but were too full! The service was OUTSTANDING! He was very kind and attentive! We will be back again!

I have been a patron of Jia's since the early 90's and have never been disappointed. Even though we left the city many year's ago Jia's still remains one of my favorites and we make it back 2-3 times a year. Great food, great service, great value.

I'm not from Chicago but from Dallas... this was hands down the best food & service I've EVER had! I don't normally like wonton soup but theirs takes the cake! If you're in the area this is a must eat!

Excellent Chinese at a great price
By ,
We were shocked to find this great restaurant not packed full of customers at an early lunch! We ordered a great lunch special and enjoyed delicious hot tea all under $20 for 2 of us, including our generous tip! The excellent servers brought us Moo Shu Pork and General Tso's Chicken. These are the freshest vegetables we have found in Chinese cuisine in a long time! Delicious and flavorful, but not greasy! Our lunches for 5.95 included hot and sour soup or wonton soup - we ordered each one and found them to be the best we have ever had and there was an egg roll served with each meal as well! What a great find and such a delicious meal that left money in our wallet on the way out the door. Looking for great Chinese--don't miss out on Jia's!
