Harold's Chicken Shack
Don't judge Harold's by its dingy, slightly scary interior. Harold's sells what may be the best Fried Chicken north of the Mason Dixon line. Smothered in your choice of mild or hot sauces, served with fries over white bread, this is the stuff homesick South Side Chicagoans dream of when they are out of town. Working stiffs and University of Chicago professors alike can attest to the appeal of this greasy ambrosia. Numerous locations can be found around the city.
I first learned about Harold's in Atlanta after hearing Kanye West singing about it in his first video, so I went to chk it out and have yet to regret... After you place your order PLEASE do request the sweet secret sauce...It's awesome
I love Harold's. The food is great and so are the prices. You get all the bang for your buck plus a full, satsified belly. The service is nothing to brag about, but you can be sure that your food will be ready in a timely fashion. I'm telling you--Go to Harold's.
Harold's would not be Harolds if you didnt have to wait on it. Its Great to me. I dont understand why eveyone complain about the wait time, service, and overall attitude about the place but i can promise you that they still go back for more.
I LOVE HAROLDS CHICKEN...EATING IT GOING ON 32YEARS NOW!!! YOU DON'T GO FOR THE AMBIANCE OR THE SERVICE...YOU GO THERE FOR THE ALWAYS GREAT TASTING CHICKEN. HOT OR COLD HAROLDS IS STILL GREAT CHICKEN.STILL A GOOD VALUE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.
Slow service is the only problem that I have. Well, good chicken comes tho those who wait:) At certain locations they don't give you enough mild sauce to smother those delicious fries, bread, and chicken. Overall the food is um um good. I go to school away from home and as soon as I get to Chicago for the winter break, spring break, and summer break, I go straight for Harold's!
Saturday Feb. 12th my wife and I ordered over the phone from Harolds on Sunset ave. in Waukegan. we placed an order for 18 piece bucket of wings, a large order of fries and a pint of slaw. We were told our order would be ready in 15 minutes. We arrived to the store in about 12 minutes after the order had be placed. We had to wait another 15 minutes for our order. When we got home(about a 7 mintue drive) we opened up the bucket. The wings looked old, like they been sitting around all afternoon, unsold ect. they were cold and very greasey. The fries were cold and old. They too had been cooked several minutes earlier. The slaw was way to sweet. Harolds in Waukegan get your act together..
Too long of a wait. Most of us who order from your downtown resturant are on lunch. I do not have 20 to 30 minutes to wait for a call in order. For that reason I will not go back. I was late getting back to work. I can not loose my job over a piece of chicken.Your idea for this kind of resturant downtown is great but you need to come up with a better execution of it.
Recipient of the 'Best Chinese Restaurant' award in Chicago, this place serves up some extraordinary concoction of sauces and unique
dishes with immaculate presentation. Before dinner, don't forget to order one of their exclusive margaritas. A few of the ...
This colorful taverna in Greektown is well worth the short trek from downtown. The menu mixes standard Greek fare, including
a flaming Saganaki cheese appetizer and traditional lamb and chicken dishes, with more interesting offerings like pan fried squid. ...
