Harold's Chicken Shack, Chicago

The chicken is good relative to other Harold's. But the service makes going there NOT AT ALL worth it.

The Harolds on 53rd in hyde park is only good some of the time i have been in there and paid for an extra bbq sauce at $1.00 per cup and when i get home i have no extra bbq sauce in my order. when you request mild sauce salt and pepper you get a small squirt of sauce that you can hardly see or taste and sometimes the employees have an attitude and i have had small wings and old fries but for the most part they alright!

Before Harold's there was KFC but since I've been eating Harold's, I rarely go to KFC. I go to 6419 South Cottage Grove. Tell me what you think of that Harold's. They also have spaghetti, dressing, mac & cheese, okra, greens, and mushrooms. No other Harold's has this on their menu.

This harold's is dirty and very nasty!!!! The Manager Candace is Rude!!! They don't know the difference between Mild Sauce and Barbeque! If I had to choose between Starving and this place I'd starve!!!!! The manager at this place is so rude! She is the reason Black people don't support Black owned businesses! If you can go to any other Harolds I would recommend it HIGHLY and GREATLY recommend it!

Harolds has the best chicken ever!! we drove to the one at 8th/South Wabash and got our Friday regular lunch order for the gang. i know they thought i was lost : ) but we picked up our very large order and we took it back to work.. Prices are reasonable, portions huge and the hot sauce is awesome!! Call it in and pick it up and it's yummy time!!

This place rocks when it comes to frying chicken wings and fries! Its not the most decorative place as far as restaurants go, but if you take in consideration that it is a takeout, it wont bother you. There are so many locations and all I've been to is equally delicious. IF THEY WOULD ONLY START DELIVERING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to the Wabash and Balbo location because my bus goes right past it so I thought I would check it out. Didn't realize there are locations all over the city. The chicken is unbelievable! It comes with french fries, white bread, about 1 bite of spicy coleslaw, and at either mild or hot sauce. I can pass on the bread and fries, but the chicken is the best I've ever had. And I'm from Maryland, home of Perdue! It's perfectly cooked, crispy, not greasy, cooked to order, juicy, what all fried chicken should aspire to be! Don't miss Harold's!

I was in Chicago last year and had my first taste of Harolds...and Im hooked... Im a reservationist at a limo company in Las Vegas and when I get someone on the phone who is flying in from Chicago I tell them I wont send a car unless they bring me some Harolds... Please SOMEONE open a Harolds in Las Vegas!! With all the Chicagoans that live here...you would make a mint!!!

A chicago staple! more than deep dish pizza if you come to chicago and you do not get harolds you wasted your trip!

I did not like nothing but the food not the wait nor the employees. I came all the way from Memphis, TN. to get that type of treatment? But the food makes you forget those attitudes, YUMMY!
