Lou Malnati's Pizzeria
Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on the North Side serves true Chicago style deep dish pizzas, complete with a thin crust and wholesome toppings. The decor isn't very dressy, except sports paraphernalia and framed T-shirts on the walls. The extremely special tomato sauce used here is made from the finest ripe plum tomatoes, that renders it a fine texture. Generous helping of sausages along with spinach, mushrooms, sliced tomatoes and a blend of mozzarella, Romano and cheddar cheeses is irresistible! Lou also serves appetizers, soups, salads and sandwiches and will FedEx pizzas anywhere in the U.S. The staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home. If booze is up your alley, a full bar keeps you well serviced.
Lous Malnati's pizza is above average, but that's about all I can say about it. I don't like the fact that they bury their sauage and pepperoni under the other ingredients... this prevents them from getting fully done. I like it when pepperoni and sausage are on top of the pizza and can get brown. Also, sometimes I think the cheese is rubbery in texture at Lou's. Word of warning, the Lou Malnati on Lincoln Ave. in Skokie is a dirty DUMP. Food on the floor, loud obnoxious people, YUCK !!
Lou's pizza can not be beat! All those who say Gino's will never be food critics. Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza is far superior to most, although the sheet sausage is not my favorite. Great pizza is Lou's specialty
Lots of places to eat in Chicago but we were looking for a smaller Italian place to dine. This was the place and the italian food was excellent.I got the Mostaccioli ala Malnati and it was great. This was loaded with cheese and it was very very tasty and hit the spot. There was so much in this bowl i barely ate it all. My honey got the lasagna and she really enjoyed it. We also ordered the Mozzarella stick and there was nothing fancy about them, yet they were good. When i go back though i'll get what the guy across from me ordered. The Three-Cheese Bread, that dish was loaded with cheese and it looked great. The prices are very reasonable as well, and its in a nice location. This is walking distance froma lot of hotels in river North area.
Top Rated pizza in all of the US and easily in the top 3. I have many friends that come to chicago and we always get a pie and now they have a special pick up for just take out and not a restaurant genius
