The building where Excalibur is housed opened in 1892. It was dubbed "the castle" and designed by Henry Ives Cobb, best known in Chicago as the architect for the Fisheries Building at the 1893 World's Fair. Today, "the castle" is home to a multi-level adult playground that features games, billiards, a club room that plays disco and "The Dome Room," which plays current music. This is a wildly popular nightspot and seems to draw "the beautiful people" from Chicago and the suburbs, as well as visiting celebs. Leave your flashy car with the valet, shine up your capped teeth and join in the fun.
i was here for my 23rd bday in october and they took really good care of me! Since i had such a horrible experience @ LEVEL and chose to come to Excalibur they gave me a huge section, wrist band bar access for 2 hrs and freedom to rome between there and vision. I have been back several times since and will continue to do so!
I was there for my 21st birthday and had a blast. It is only boring if you are shy and don't like dancing. I was able to get on all floors. We got there at 9ish and did not leave untill 3:30 ish and the parking garage we parked in was only 30$ so it was well worth the money that we spent.
Good place..there is alot of hispanics, but whats so bad about that!!! Come there, if you like a good time and if you have more than 600 bucks in your pocket because this place is expensive!! If you dont, make sure you got invited by some rich friends to pay for you. Their treat!!
not the high end of clubs- more the middle income kinda club. Does not mean the drinks are cheap tho. Crowd varies between middle aged to 40 yr olds sometimes. and then on other days it goes to mostly hispanic crowds. I am talking Saturdays. I have no idea on how this club was rated as one of the best clubs in Chicago. Thats a good question? Maybe its easy to get into - im assuming.
No one who lives in Chicago actually hangs out here. The crowd is made up of overweight suburbanites and business travelers from Kansas. Lame! Between the music and the fashion, if you want to see what was hot five years ago, totally check out Excalibur.
This place is great for the serious downtown clubbers. I am a dancing clubber so I love the hard club music. The people that can go there can go to different floors for their style or taste and still have a good time. One thing to watch out for, the price. This place can be VERY expensive. However, if you want to experience one of chicago best DANCE clubs, go here.
This three level dance spot is the former home of Excalibur's Dome Room and Vision maintains all of the flair
of its predecessor. There are booths on the second floor where you can hide out behind curtains and sip ...
