TRU, Chicago

I love Tru! The food is good, but what really stands out here is the presentation!! The presentation with the food and atmosphere is a feast for the eyes. I love the lobby when you walk in, it's innovative, unique and beautiful. The staff is wonderful and knowledgable. The atmosphere is trendy, yet cozy. You could go to this restaurant for all occasions: a special occasion, romantic evening, impress a date, fun night out with friends, etc. The food is good, innovative and presented gorgeously, but not all of the flavors blended well for me; however, please don't get me wrong, the food is still quite above average. This is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. It's also pricey, but worth it.

It was an absolute unforgetable perfect dining pleasure for our 43rd Anniversary. We booked the kitchen table. We were greeted as soon as we entered.Our waiter[Fredrick] came and escorted us to the kitchen table and sat us.He explained the menu to us and said that he would take us on a kitchen tour later. He explained every course served and the presentation was perfect. The chef[Tim] came in, introduced himself and also explained the dishes. The sommelier made excellent choices of wine to complement our meal. It was WONDERFUL--Thank You, Ron and Doris

Wow, what an experience it is to dine at Tru. First class all the way, 7 courses for my sitting, all unbelievable. Desert was incredible as well. The presentation is fantastic, the food is phenomenal, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is second to none. I would highly recommend Tru for any special occasion, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

The decor, service and food are tremendous. The tasting dinner was about 10 small courses. The wire steward was very helpful without being stuffy. If you are not adventurous about tasting different foods in unusual, artistic presentations, this is not for you. It is a good sized room with lots of space between tables. The service is choreographed to take care of your every need, but I never felt that we were being patronized. The down side is cost. Our party of 2 had a bill with tip of $425. It could have been much higher and I have never had a friend that was there that did not spend at least $200/person. Still, if you have something special to celebrate, or just want a great food experience, Tru is worth the cost.

TRU was an experience in itself. The quality of service is excellent from the time you arrive to the time you leave. If you dont want cavier, ask for their sushi, it is excellent. Their fish and meat dishes are fantastic. You must experience this place atleast once in your life:)

I had a romantic birthday celebration at the Tru Restaurant and they were extremely accommodating to us. The food was the best I've had!!! They even went as far as to allow roses to be delivered to me from a florist of our choice. I felt very special on my special day thanks to the staff at the Tru restaurant!

Sublime dinners, champagnes, wines, desserts... Masterful staff... Elegant, exciting, and artful venue... Foodie must do... Not for the boring or the broke.

TRU is everything you expect when you make a reservation. Perfection
