West Egg Cafe, Chicago

Our hotel conceirge told us about West Egg while we were visiting last weekend, and I was very pleased. There was only a short wait and the food and service were both excellent! I had pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, bananas and whipped cream. It was great! I highly recommend West Egg if you are in the downtown area. I will definitely go back there the next time I am in Chicago.

West Egg Cafe is a phenomenon ! This is the place where I had enjoyed having breakfast the most. When I am in Chicago , I always go to West Egg to have breakfast .Hulya

I've eaten here twice, both times were on Holiday weekends. There was about a 20 minute wait both times, but the food was definitely worth the wait. Good food, good service and reasonable prices. I'll go again the next time I'm in town!!

After reading these reviews, I had to go to West Egg Cafe. The place was PACKED and it was a Tuesday Morning. I can say that the food was definitely worth the wait. I had their version of Country Fried Steak and it was great. Their gravy is extremely tasty. The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service was terrible. I'm not holding anything against the restaurant, however, as I am hoping it was just our server. She did not check on us once and didn't even bring cream for our coffee. All in all, the food made up for the poor service.

Absolutely the best place in Chicago to eat breakfast. Always busy, but consistently great. I personally love the Eggs Benedict, but no matter what you order, you will be pleased. There is always a line, but trust me, it will go fast. They have the best service around. You must go and visit when you are in town!

This place was phenomenal. We went there time during our short stay. The eggs and potatoes are truly to die for. It can get VERY rowdy so it definitely isn't for a quiet breakfast but well worth eating at at least once.

While breakfast places may be far and few in between, make the trip and go somewhere else. I worked by this joint for an entire summer and tried multiple things on the menu. It always came down to being cold, greasy and overpriced with the fruit never ripe. The wait-staff was friendly and brisk but the overall quality of food makes it not even worth it. This place was good some years ago, but honestly, try PJ and Clarkes for breakfast down the block. amazing omelets there!

Great service-Great food. I can't believe no one has mentioned the corned beef hash-absolutely th best I've ever had!! We went two mornings in a row. FAST service also.
