You will be pleased with the food served at this cozy cafe.
My husband and I truly enjoyed the array of handsome muscle bound waiters serving a deliceous and abundant menu....at a very reasonable price. The decor is so fun and interesting. The clientelle was upbeat and comforting as well. We liked it so well that we went two mornings in a row! Get there early.
Egg omlets melt in your mouth; bagel french toast was a hit with our 8 year old; and eggs, hash, english muffin was devoured by our 11 year old. Fast paced restaurant, with that family feeling! We will definately return the next time we are in Chicago!!!
After reading these reviews, I had to go to West Egg Cafe. The place was PACKED and it was a Tuesday Morning. I can say that the food was definitely worth the wait.
I had their version of Country Fried Steak and it was great. Their gravy is extremely tasty.
The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service was terrible. I'm not holding anything against the restaurant, however, as I am hoping it was just our server. She did not check on us once and didn't even bring cream for our coffee.
All in all, the food made up for the poor service.
We go to the West Egg at least twice during each visit to Chicago, it can't be missed. The service is quick and despite how long the line may look we have never waited more than 5 minutes. Nothing on the menu will disappoint you!
I used to work in the building, upstairs from West Egg... so we would order lunch from here sometimes.
I made a trip to Chicago with my brother, and had to take him here for breakfast. The wait was pretty long, but the food is worth it!
