I will NEVER bring my family back to this Chicago location again. We had a reservation for 6:15 and were not seated until 7:15. Familes without reservations were waiting nearly 2 hours to be seated. The small lobby/waiting area was crowded (standing room only) with hungry children & crabby parents. For a restaurant that is supposed to be a fun family experience, Rainforest Cafe greatly missed the mark. When we were finally seated the table still had food crusted to it from previous patrons, my chair was so wobbly I was afraid it may break and the highchair they provided for my 2 yr old would not fit up to the table due to a bar being across the base & the base of table being in the way. Horribly thought out seating arrangements for highchairs. The food is overpriced and portions not very generous for the price. I don't have any positive comments from our experience, which is sad. My children didn't even enjoy it because they were cranky & hungry from waiting so long. I would rather go across the street to Portillos, be seated right away, pay reasonable prices & have my family happy. If I could only give 1/2 a star for this review I would.

My husband, 5 yr. old daughter, and myself went today for lunch and we ordered ouir food and waited about 25 minutes for our food!! We were starving! The restaurant wasnt even full! My 5yr old had ordered the mac n cheese and it was $6.00-but that wasnt the bad thing, when my daughter was finished with it, she was still hungry!! The portion was so small, it didnt even fill my petite 5 yr. old's tummy!! Come on im paying $6. for the mac n cheese-at least make enough to fill my 5-yr-old's tummy!! I understand they need to make a profit, but DAMN!! The ketchup bottle was almost empty, and when i squeezed it, it just splattered the last bit on my arm! WTF?! They only gave each of us 1 napkin!! Talk about cheapskates!! Tight grip on their $! Everything came out to $50. Personally, if im paying that much for lunch, I expect the same quality service in return!! At olive garden we pay the same, and the service and everything is amazing and worth it!!! I dont think we'll be going back there!

Great fun: The Rainforest is a wonderful adventure of food, and fun. Set in a Rainforest Safari theme complete with waterfalls, elephants, and tigers. The effects are are pretty cool also. Thunder, and lightning, rain, and different animal sounds. It is really is a wonderful adventure for the whole family with amazing food fit for a king. From surf and turf for mom and dad to mini burgers or hot dogs for the kids. The Rainforest Cafe has a location in Chicago on Ohio St. I give 4 stars out of 5 for theme, food, and great service. I must recommend for you shrimp lovers the Nile Shrimp Enbrochette. Very good, very filling.

I could have gone to kahunaville and paid less for the same food AND I could have played video games. That isn't even why I will not go back! The waite staff is was rude.

It was OK, good food, rotten service

We had a party of two adults and 4 kids so the waitress knew they were going to add 18% to the bill no matter how much she didn't care. She pushed it to the limit. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes for food and watching her talk to another table (of her friends) for 30 minutes, I finally got up and walked into the kitchen myself. Well, I got in trouble but my food was at the table 2 seconds later, but it had obviously been sitting under the heat lamps for a LONG LONG TIME.

This is the best of both worlds! Can be fun and can also be romantic. I love going to Rainforest Cafe with the family. The staff is extremely friendly and theirvatiety of food is great. Service is just perfect, my glass was never empty. This is a great place to take the whole family, especialy the little ones. My husband and I went there on our wedding day and we had a great time!

Hated it

I went to the Rainforest Cafe in Gurnee Mills. The food was awful, just terrible and the prices were outrageous. I could have had an awesome steak at Ruth Chris steakhouse for the same price!! And everyone I was with had terrible food. The atmosphere is OK, but I would say just walk through one time and that should satisfy your curiosity. It doesn't really feel like a rainforest, more like a cafeteria with some leaves strung up.
