We love Coco Pazzo. It keeps getting better and better. There's a new chef there that has added a spark of flavor to the menu. We split a pasta dish with pici from Tuscany and a duck ragu sauce. It melted in your mouth. Then we had the seafood stew and the pork chop, both were excellent. The wine the server recommended was both reasonable and delicious. We wished we had saved room for dessert! The service was beyond reproach. One thing that keeps us coming back is that Coco Pazzo is a comfortable place to dine. When we go out, we don't want to feel rushed or pressured to eat more than possible. Overall, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious, pleasurable evening.
We met friends who love this place for dinner. $600 later, (well, we did get two bottles of wine), my husband and I could only look at each other in wonder. Why did our friends rave about this spot when the food was unexceptional, service was okay and pricing was high Better concept than execution, at least with what I had for my appetizer and entree and my husband concurs. We do not plan to return.
We were a large group -15. Reservations were made 2 weeks in advance. Requested each couple receive their own bill upon reservation. Not all restaurants will do this. Received a big - No problem! Upon arrival coats were being checked. I did not get mine in with the group. Upon asking female hostess where the coat room was, without looking at me she curtly stated she did not know. Then she turned to look at me and saw that I had my coat in my hand and asked me what I wanted. I said the coat room. Then she told me where it was, instead of apologizing and taking it for me. Food was great, server was very unattentive, probably because of the separate check thing. Upon end of 850.00 meal, I was told by my server that restaurant could not seperate our bills, and also found that an automatic 20% gratuity, which was not deserved, had been placed on the bill. Nothing was as expected and staff was cold. Like I said, won't be back. Heavy lighting left something to be desired in atmosphere, old world, but stuffy.
This restaurant is one of the best I've been to in any city for its price range. The ambiance is perfect and hip, and food is fantastic. The staff was excellent. I needed to have a car service pick us up because we walked over from a nearby recording studio. The staff set it all up for me while I ate. If you're in Chicago for any reason I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
I do not live in downstate Illinois and travel to Chicago on business. I have dined at Coco Pazzo on several occasions. In Chicago, because there are so many fine restaurants, it's hard to pick the best. In my opinion, for an up-scale superb dining experience, Coco Pazzo is number 1. Creative menu and specials. Preparations and presentations extremely pleasing. Wine selection very strong. Among the many great dishes I have had are wild boar ragu over soft polenta and pan seared Dover Sole with a light lemon butter sauce. If you are trying to pick a really great restaurant for a memorable dining experience, I recommend Coco Pazzo.
Great food and great service. What more can you ask for. Chef Tony Priolo is a master. His apetizers were delicious, and things get better from there. The wine was outstanding, the staff was friendly and attentive and to top it all of the deserts were out of this world. My wife, son and myself shared entrees and each was outstanding. From the duck to the bass to the pasta, we were all impressed. My son, who is the pickiest eater I have even known said this was the best place he has ever eaten. Coming from him, that says alot.
