pricey drinks but worth it

Every time I visit Chicago, I have to have a drink here. Sure the prices of a beer or cocktail are ridiculously overpriced, but what do you expect? You're on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building overlooking one of the greatest cities! Definitely try to get a seat by the window for maximum enjoyment. Beware of how many drinks you have as the elevator ride down can be painful.

Paying for the view, not service or quality.

The view was fabulous and support staff very friendly and helpful. When my burger was delivered to my table there was a glob of raw hamburger meat sitting along with my fries and my burger. My mind is immediately racing, ecoli, what has this touched?? Server brought me a new plate, not new food, did not seem to care. Did not want to eat my food. Paying for the view, not service or quality.

great view,great service but food pricing little expensive.it is totaly touristic and that is why the price is overpriced.you could have a drink at the lounge without spending so much money at the restaurant.

Incredibly Overpriced

This place is nice, but incredibly expensive. The view while you dine is nice, but the view from the Signature Lounge is arguably better, and the appetizers and drinks sold in the lounge end up damaging your wallet a lot less than the restaurant. I recommend going out to eat somewhere reasonably priced, then hitting up the Signature Lounge for drinks afterward if you just want to place to sit and enjoy the lovely lights of the Chicago skyline.

You're only paying for the view

The food was not worth the price, even for a special occassion. We celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary and were prepared to pay the price, but were disappointed in the food. My husband's $70 surf and turf was tough and tasteless. My roasted chicken was average. Suggestion: go to the lounge on the floor above to take in the view and have a cocktail. Then go somewhere else for the dinner.

Worst Service

Aside from the spectacular view, I have nothing positive to say. My husband booked ahead for my birthday with special instructions. None were honored. Additionally, the service was severely lacking. Service at a Village Inn would be considerred superior to the attentiveness, or rather LACK of attentiveness. If you are going just to see the view, book a tour. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant. The only apology we were given was "sorry but we're just really busy". On a Saturday night, few good restaurants are not busy in Chicago. This is NO excuse. Spend time and money elsewhere.

This is one of my favorite places to take out-of-towners. The view of the city is incredible! I have only had drinks here and (as you might imagine) they are not cheap, but they are strong so I think it's worth it.

Cold Guacamole

Why would you serve cold guacamole? I'm not talking room temp, i'm talking COLD. It's a sign that it's not fresh, otherwise why would it need to be in the fridge? My boyfriend and I ordered the guac and chips along with drinks- the waitress was very nice. The view was very nice. The annoying tourists taking a MILLION pictures were awful. I had a coffee with Balieys, which was good and had a mound of whipped cream on it.

If you are visiting Chicago you must go to the Signature Room! Even if you can't afford dinner, go to the lounge for a drink (The Mojitos are the best I've ever had!)... the view is amazing!! You won't be dissapointed. The lounge is on the 96th floor of the Hancock building and the view overlooks the city. I'm so glad I went. And women even if you're on a tight budget and don't want to spend the extra money... it sounds silly but just go up to use the women's restroom. There is a huge window in the restroom that looks over the city.
