Portillo's Hot Dogs, Chicago

If you think you do not like hot dogs or they are just ok, then you may not have eaten one in the Chicago area. Not sure why, but they are a different level of food than what I have know of hotdogs previously. Everywhere I have eaten in Chicago has been very good. Portillo's might be a good standard of comparison and they have a bigger menu than many places. I like the grilled Italian sausage hot dog with sweet peppers. Really good.

First time going to Portillo's! I ordered the Double Burger and a side of onion rings. It was the best burger that i have had to date! Went back a second time in the same day and ordered a Cake Shake. Milk shake with chocolate cake mixed up in it. Will make you want to slap your momma.....and any other mommasstanding around!!

I now live in Atlanta and man I miss Portillo's! Every time I go back to Chicago to visit family I HAVE to go to Portillo's. I've lived and worked all over the U.S. and nothing can compare...

HI I am longterm chef Angelo Castaldi I am 30 years experienced in the kitchen i have to say portillos is deliecious the burgers and meat its cooked beautuiful if meat is not juicy it is ruined and overcooked meat is trashed a real chef knows his meat and knows that meat shldnot be cooked past medium becuase the meat is cooked to a dry ruined texture that is also more unhealthy for the body and portillos u have the best burger in the chcago land area thanks to the 20,000 char broiler in every portillos

CHICAGO SINCE 1955 either owns or works for a competitor of Portillo's. Anyone who has EVER had a Portillo's dog, beef sandwich or burger, can't get enough. If it's so bad Chicago, then why is there a line of 8-10 cars at the drive-thru opne to close? Portillo's is a uniquely Chicago experience that is consistently of the highest quality and the best taste!

I personally like Portillo's a lot. It's not a place where I crave to go all the time, but it's a great place when you want to grab a quick bite. The food is pretty good and I love their chicken sandwiches. yum :]. Their burgers are good, too. I like mine plain :].

I agree with CHICAGO SINCE 1955 Portillo's doesn't have anything good on the menu, the burgers are terrible, the hot dogs are worse, cant say anything nice about their ribs. The only good thing I've ever tried there was as Justin S mentioned already, are the beef cheddar croissant. This is from A guy who's eaten fast food all his life here in Chicago.

The beef and cheddar croissant with sweet peppers is the greatest thing to ever happen to mankind. I don't live in Chicago anymore, but I tend to wake up in the middle of the night craving these suckers. I happened to visit last week and got my fair share. Long live Portillo's!!!

they have the best fast food burger period. all there food is good sure a pub burgers is better but its fast and u dont have to get out of the car.chocolate cake slices are killer!!!

Portillo's? Are you serious? Portillo's is quite possibly the WORST hamburger and maybe one of the worst hot dog's in the Chicago area. If you're lookin' for lukewarm and greasy this is the place to go!
