Portillo's Hot Dogs, Chicago

Portillo's? Are you serious? Portillo's is quite possibly the WORST hamburger and maybe one of the worst hot dog's in the Chicago area. If you're lookin' for lukewarm and greasy this is the place to go!

Portillo's is not bad but!!!!!!!!!!!! Try Red Robin in Oswego. They have the best burgers in the country. I've been all over the country and all I'm saying is that they are the best by far. Plus all the fries and soda you can down at no additional charge. Now I wish someone does for the hot dog that they did for the burger. Back in Jersey we could buy Thumann's hot dogs. On the grill they are fantastic. Unfortunately they cannot be found in Chicago land. Can't have everything.

Portillos is to Hot Dogs and Burgers like Franco American is to spaghetti. There are a TON of superior burger joints, Portillos is a mill of mediocre franchise quality fast food.

Never cared for this place.. Not that great of food... overrated place

I don't like it. They're either too greasy or the beef hamburger would be too soggy. I really don't know what else is good enough to eat there. I'd rather go Red Robins.

would rather go to longhorn steak house for a burger..... don't know what the line is for also for the drive thru, it seems that a lot of people are used to the salty soup, and the not-so-fresh two day old salads, and greasy burgers

Portillo's?? Great Food??? Average at best. Living in Chicago gives so many great choices and options for burgers, beef, dogs and pizza. Portillo's is just another chain. Hit the neighborhoods and the burbs for the best.

I agree with CHICAGO SINCE 1955 Portillo's doesn't have anything good on the menu, the burgers are terrible, the hot dogs are worse, cant say anything nice about their ribs. The only good thing I've ever tried there was as Justin S mentioned already, are the beef cheddar croissant. This is from A guy who's eaten fast food all his life here in Chicago.

Portillo's really isn't that good.....if you are in Chicago looking for a good burger, hot dog, or amazing italian beef sandwich, I suggest Beefy's on 58th and Harlem, ironically right down the street from Portillos. Its a small family owned business, so they actually care about the quality of food they serve since they don't have a big name to rely on......For good food and good prices, dont bother going to portillo's!
