Nick's Fish Market
Nick's is back-to-basics at its best. American chow has never been better - fish, steaks, pasta, chicken - whatever, you can't go wrong. The rich wood and leather decor underscore the hearty atmosphere and its offset by the always-tuxed wait staff. If you're hungry then Nick's Fish Market is for you.
Vast variety of seafood and mouth watering appetizers; excellent food taste and you can tell that the fish is fresh off the boat. Service was impecable... the moment you place the glass down one of the servers will have it refilled. Very courteous staff; since my first visit to Nick's about 3 years back I have been there 6 other occasions and each time I felt like I am being pampered like a king.
I highly recommend this restaurant and they have one in Rosemont by the O'Hare Airport too ... never been there but I heard its as good as the one in downtown Chicago.
Nick's FishMarket is a place with consistency - in its service - in the quality of food for its pricing. I have been going to Nick's since I was seventeen years old, 28 years now, and it is still revered as one of my favorite places to dine in the city. Any special occassion always makes it even more special when dining there. When clients come from out of town and they enjoy the experience - the consensus remains consistent as well. They are impressed - blown away with the product. One will never be disappointed from the moment the enter the door, and especially after they indulge in the food.
Nick's has exceptional service. The food and ambiance are excellent. What started as a birthday celebration for my wife 7 years ago has become an annual birthday celebration. I know that without a doubt she will enjoy her birthday dinner. She looks forward to it each year. Nick's has never disappointed.
We may not be on the East or West coast, but for a truly extraordinary dining experience, one can never beat the excellent food at Nick's. I was truly amazed at how good the food was good - what service, what attention to detail. From the moment the waiter put the napkin on my lap, explained in detail the different fish selections and the wonderful wine list, this was just unbelievable. Having enjoyed and remembered all of my trips to the east and west coast and the seafood, I could not believe that my home town could have such a wonderful place such as this.
